Wondering about a few authors!!

I just picked up a couple of books today by some authors I am unfamiliar with. This is something I don't normally do, but I only paid $1.25 for them. I was curious what you guys know about these authors. Francis Frangipane, Michael L. Brown, John Dawson, and Erwin Lutzer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I usually read people like Wilkerson, Ravenhill, Tozer, Spurgeon, Watchman Nee, Andrew Murray, Richard Baxter and the like. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have heard some good things about Erwin Lutzer, but I've also heard that he is a little shallow sometimes (but idk). A close friend of mine respects him. I believe he preaches in Moody's pulpit?
Michael Brown I have heard bad things about. Do a quick search.

Would like to think that with the company you keep your discernment ought to be pretty well grounded to pick up anything amiss.

...Erwin Lutzer

I watched a video "Who are you to judge?" based on the book by the same name. It was really good and solid teaching.

Description of the video: It deals with the subject of discernment: the ability to distinguish the false from the true; or better, the false from the half true. Today (more than not) Mathew 7:1 (Do not judge, or you too will be judged”)... is ripped out of its context, and applied as if it were meant to promote and teach blind, compromising “tolerance” of all sins as acceptable, and all viewpoints as necessarily equal in value. But our responsibility as members of the church is to distinguish biblical Christianity from the counterfeit spirituality and value's of today's world.

I really don't usually start reading anything if I am unfamiliar with them. That is why I was asking. I do as much research on people that I check out before putting them in front of me. I just don't want to waste the time that God has given me.

Erwin Lutzer... Tears beat me to it! Lutzer has a book out by the same title of that video. Get the book, it's great, sound and very much needed if you're going to hang around here for very long! lol

"We Are You To Judge" - we all are, according to scripture.

Hi

I got a book on "the Jezebel Spirit" (not sure if that was the exact title) by Francis Frangipane. It was at a conference bookstall that should have been pretty "sound", but there was something "not quite right" about this book, that I couldn't put my finger on.

That's the only thing of his that I've read though, so maybe other books of his are OK.

Blessings

Jeannette
