SermonIndex Front Page site changes

sermonindex May 24, 2007

Saints,

I have prayerfully decided to make some changes on the front page of the website.

There are a new feature:

VIDEO SERMONS - Links to watch and download some critical and timely video sermons. There is a archive of the sermons that I will be added to at various times also:
https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=17033&forum=34

There are some old features that have been taken down:

TOP POSTERS - The list of the top 7 posters has been taken dow, it did serve its purpose but now the membership of the website is over 25,000 and listing the top posters is something that could be seen as trying to get praise and glory from men. To contact the moderator staff you can still go here: https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/contact/

NEW MEMBERS - This list of the top 7 new members registered has been taken down. People are encouraged to write a intro messages after they have registered and hopefully that will be the best way for people to introduce themselves as a new member of the community.

There has been a modification to a current feature:

RECENT DISCUSSIONS - I have expanded the list of recent discussions from the last 10 posts to the last 15 posts.

Please let me know what you think of these changes. I do feel they are positive changes and will help people access resources more readily and use the current functions of the website.

I think the changes are great and I think God gave you wisdom in seeing the need there. Thank you for caring about what is best even down to small details!

I really like the video part. There are times I would like to watch a video and may not want to scan through everything to find one.

I have also added a few more links on the front page:

THE OLD PATHS - I have added 2 sub links to this section including:

Magazine Archive, Subscribe, Printable Articles.

REVIVAL CONFERENCE - I have added this new section for the revival conference to make links to register for this event readily available:

General Information, Pre-Register, Conference Website

I am glad that there has been a positive response to the changes on the front page. May God get the glory from this website and all the content in it.

I have added a [image] image icon to the 3 major places on the front page where changes have occoured. I will keep them up for a few days to a week.

I hope that will help most of the visitors know there have been some signifigant changes to the front page of the website.

It caught my eye right away. :-)

I like the changes. Keep pressing on in this work God has given you, brother!

Wonderful changes brother, and again I thank the Lord for this work here, and I thank Him for His servant who has made this available. ;-)

Greg, thank you for all the changes. Because of your changes, I found the video section and Bill McLeod's Revival in Canada video. Wow is all I can say. I'll admit I've prayed half-heartedly for revival but now I am not! Thank you!!

After I listened to several sermons by him and Gerhard, I had an appointment with a pastor from a new church and I went to "interview" him!! LOL (And he passed by the way!) I'm excited about one thing, their Wed nite meeting is a revival prayer meeting! Sadly, before this, I probably wouldn't even have thought twice about the wed meeting. I repent!! I told him about Bill and Canada and asked him, "If I were to get you some revival sermons to listen to... would you?" He seemed excited and said, Yes, he'd be glad to! I'd love to be part of or just experience revival in East Tennessee!!

It's the first time I've gotten excited about going to church in a very long time. but experience says, "we'll see!!!" LOL

God bless you in your hard work,
Lisa

PS: This is just my two cents worth but I don't believe it would be obnoxious or manipulative to have a simple link under the Main Menu to PayPal so we can easily give and/or support Sermonindex.net.

I have had a link to the support page before in the main menu and have recently for the last while tooken it down. I can still be acccessed on the "contact us" page: https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/contact/

And more directly: https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/donations/

I think it would be good to still keep a top posters list. I think such helps new folks identify which individuals form the character and backbone of the forums, and who the serious posters are.

Just a thought though...

A suggestion: For the video's you consider especially cream of the crop, is it possible that you could upload these in full clarity for those of us who might wish to burn DVD copies for our own personal library?

Unfortunately to get the high enough quality for DVD copies would require much more bandwidth then is currently available. The size and quality of the videos right now are optimale for online and computer viewing.
