SPIRITUAL HUNGER

Matt 5:6
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

John 6:35
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Spiritual hunger, and physical hunger are very similar. They both produce a desire and a need, and need to be taken care of.
Both need to have something happen in order to be satisfied.
Physical hunger is satisfied by eating food.
Spiritual hunger is satisfied by eating Spiritual food. The Word of God.
Spending time with God, spending time with Him in His presence.

There is nothing that can satisfy spiritual hunger but Gods Word. You cannot eat food, to satisfy Spiritual hunger.
In order to be fully satisfied you need a steady diet of Gods Word. You need a steady diet of Gods presence. You need to seek Him and spend time with Him.

This is what I know of Spiritual Hunger. It is a deep gnawing in your belly, its something that grows and grows, no matter what you eat in the natural, and its not satisfied with natural food.
You cannot sit still, you cannot rest, you cannot concentrate, the hunger is relentlessly there in your belly, and even reading Gods word for a bit only brings a little relief. You go to bed hungry, you wake hungry, you eat your meals, and you are hungry even after eating, you go to bed, and in the middle of the night you are hungry……..this is a driving gnawing spiritual hunger that only GOD can satisfy. it’s a beautiful thing. it’s a exciting!……..All you can feel is a hunger… and it drives you to the feet of Jesus. Because only HE can fill that hunger that is in you.
Are you HUNGRY for things of GOD? Are you DESPERATELY HUNGRY for more of HIM in your life? Are you so HUNGRY with purpose and drive that nothing will stop you from grabbing hold of His robe, and hanging on for dear life, and not letting go? I know I am! Spiritual Hunger is a deep inner drive, that nothing in the world can satisfy! Only GOD can!
