sermons demonstrating the need to engage newcomers and the faithful

Good Day,

Am still trying to refine my thoughts! So I can communicated to you all what my need is;

There must be some good/great sermons showing that existing members of a church need to engage newcomers AND the faithful.

Jesus said "They will know you are my disciples by your love for one another" Yet year after year I find our churchs resistent to such a basic idea????!

I'm thinking that people must be thinking that it is so and so's job, they have gifts for that!

Paul speaks of the gifts in 1Cor 12 and then says "I'll show you a more excellent way" breaking into chap 13. Can't I safely say that Paul is saying "Love them all!!!" Gifts will pass away, but you, must love if you do anything at all, YOU MUST LOVE (and therefore engage) EVERY PERSON THAT COMES THROUGH YOUR DOOR. As well as those who have already come through your door and been faithful members.

:-( :-o :-D

(Ha, the Smilie in your title might scare them away)

Hi conservative. Have you ever down-loaded the free Bible program at www.e-sword.net ?

There's tons of books to go into it.

If you have it or one like it, with commentaries, etc. etc., you could do a study on Titus 1:8 with the word-study being on hospitality, then you could write your own sermons. That's a more excellent way to/too.

Sometimes we let others do the work for us ... even with hospitality also.

Amen too - God 'is' love.

Annie

Try this one. If it doesn't work type future trends in the body of Christ in search box. It should get you there.
