Ravenhill

Hi I am brand new to Sermon Index, or at least the forum part.

For the last year I have been pouring over the Ravenhill sermon, I listened to two last night. When I was 16 someone gave me 6 of his sermons on tape, and it changed me and my prayer life forever. Anyways, while i have been listening to countless sermons of his I have begin to piece part of his life together and am forming a mini biography in my head. Also other websites have people giving testimony to him, it seems he saw mini revivals break out just about every where he lived in America.

I have asked other pastors in my home state of Minnesota and alot of them have heard him speak, they give testimony to pastor conferences in which 90 percent of the pastors where weeping at the front at the end of the sermon..... he has inspired me to go forward in prayer and was such a gift to the church.

This all leads me to say that I was wondering if anyone knew if there is going to be biography written about him?? Because with all the stories he and others tell it would be interesting and definitely challenging. If someone is not undertaking writing his book then we should pray and ask God that someone would, I think it would be a great encouragment to the church and challenge us to go forward with Christ.

Welcome Dave,

Grand idea there! I do not know of anyone presently undertaking something of this magnitude but it ought to be done I agree. Might it inspire some more gutteral, heartfelt, earnest preaching, Lord knows this day needs it.

Something worth looking into ...

I would love to do this. Only if God leads, though. Ravenhill's work has impacted the generation he never knew, and is still doing so, in a mighty way. I have never been the same since I was exposed to him. I still remember being captivated by him talking about 'an invasion of God the Holy Ghost.'

I will see where God leads.

You'd have to really get in touch with David, Paul, and I forget the other guy... because they are the only ones who can help you save for friends of his. You'll likely need access to his letters, maybe journals, etc. Would be pretty difficult if you can't get access to those or if they aren't available.
