Fear

D
deltadom Jun 13, 2007

Fear is the opposite of courage and it is something that makes us. Courage and Faith go together. We have godly fear and then we have other fears. It says that the fear of man brings a snare in proverbs.
It also says without faith it is impossible to please god

Heb 11:6 - Show Context
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We have a lot of fears in this society sometimes we fear because of peoples anger. We are afraid to do things because people may get angry.
It says in the last times that men's hearts will fail them because of fear.

Lu 21:26 - Show Context
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Godly fear is a good thing because it helps us love and obey god more. If we are afraid of God then who else have we got to be afraid of.
It says in John that someone who fears cannot love and fear has torment.
I have a fear of going on the computer and not obeying god. I want his love to cast out all my fears. I want to obey god in every small way aswell.
The person who I think in the bible who was most fearless was job other than Jesus.
Because he survived all the devil could through at him and survived. He lost his house and his family yet he trusted in the Lord. He was solid.

Psalm 125
1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. 3 For the rod of the wicked F354 shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

Dom, this is incredible. I've been trying to get the words for this that you've posted for a days now. I mentioned in one thread how "pleonasm" (the use of more words than is necessary) is because "we fear" something or other.

I was praying about that just now and then came on-line and here was this post of yours.

Brother, as long as I've been reading your posts - you should never have to fear posting.
You have a gift.
I have a friend that I've known for 29 years. In fact, she was my Maid-of-Honor.
She also has the gift you have of "speaking with Scripture alone".

When I moved away from our homestate, where she still lives, she'd write me letters, (before email days) and say, "I don't know why, but I was praying for you and the Lord gave me these Verses". She's very humble and doesn't depend on 'brains' like some of us do.

Well, I'd look at her list and they were one verse taken from here and there from several O.T. and N.T. Chapters.
At first I laughed and said, she's nuts, but a very dear nut.

Well, the LORD humbled my cocky self when I started reading that "hodge-podge" of Scriptures and realized, they spoke to Exactly what I was going through where I lived without my having even told her about it all.

Talk about being sent a big humble pie to eat all in one sitting. Ha.

Well, all I can say is Thanks Brother.

And what I've felt all last week and this week has been, WE ALL HAVE FEAR OF ONE SORT OF ANOTHER AND ONLY BY ASKING THE LORD TO SHOW US WHAT OUR OWN PERSONAL FEAR IS, WILL WE BE "WHOLE".

God Bless you and Keep you. You're a special Brother. Always have been. He LOVES through you. (P.S. your fear just keeps you humble - GOD is good!)

amen

For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love power and a sound mind. I fear leaving this world which I am not a citizen off and not letting my friends know how much they mean to Me.

I chose the word friend because a friend sticks closer then a brother. If I just met you then you are not a friend but a brother in the Lord unless I have known you for 8 years. Unless God has spoken to my heart and said this is and this will be your friend and your brother.

All things shall pass away but God’s word shall never pass away.

Jesus Speaking to his Disciples said, IF YOU DENY ME BEFORE MAN I WILL DENY YOU BEFORE MY HEAVENLY FATHER. This is something we should fear.

Are we to hold back on his word, his word which is sweeter then honey?

So if his word is sweeter then honey then why shortened our speech, our expression.

Attending a class at D.L. Moody institute, the instructor was teaching us on how to be Good Mentors. I will never forget this lesson – that we are to guard what someone else says to us, you know what I mean what they trust us with, what they confided in us until the opportune time to convey it. If we are not careful with what we say and share then we in actuality, R gossiping, and who ever is listening to us is sinning with us and there fore we lose trust and a friend in the 3rd party.

By your words you shall be acquitted and by your words you shall be condemned.

If I could give you the World I would and I am not your maid. So, I’ll give you Jesus but not only will I give you Jesus I will also give you the Christ, (Christos—the anointed one). The Messiah :-)

He's the one Who reigns over The WHOLE earth.
The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY - 'CREATOR' OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.

Hia Abide ~ I'm sure you've changed your mind in these last 8 months about it taking 8 years to make "a friend".

It seems when I meet one of His - it happens instantaneously.

Are you finding that more so the case -- that there's just a "click" that happens, "as soon as" ?

"Fear not little flock."

Don't ya love it? Following The Same Shepherd -- we can't help but feel each other in His flock, all bunched together, shoulder to shoulder - all headed in the Same Direction and for/toward ETERNITY. :-D

PRAISE THE LORD!!!
