My request is prayer for a friend's life and salvation. Please add your prayers with mine.
At my workplace, another employee and I have become friends.
She has no interest in the gospel, the things of God, church, etc.. In her own words, 'When you die they put you in the ground and that's it, there's nothing more.'
She is a single mother; with a live-in boyfriend; and is 'shopping' for another boyfriend(some guy she knew years ago) who also has a child with his live-in girlfriend. She has stated her live-in boyfriend would no doubt beat her up if he learned of her 'new interest'. Doesn't hinder her at all either. Laughs it off.
On the surface it would appear she is coldhearted, as such was my first impression.
But after praying for her the last six months the Lord has shown me otherwise.
She grew up in an abusive situation. Her mother abandoned the girl and her two sisters at an early age. One sister is living a gay lifestyle; the other is addicted to crack, et al.
But what finally cut me to the quick was one day when she pulled from her billfold a photo of her deceased father while talking about him. It was maybe the one time she showed a softer side. I felt deeply saddened for her loss.
It was then the Lord impressed upon me how He truly does see each of our hearts; while we too often judge with our eyes, intellect, opinions,morals, etc...; more often from pride, rather than humility towards others.
I could go on with incidents between my co-worker/friend but hope you see the deep need for her to be carried in your prayers if you should be moved to prayer for her.
