Where should the praise be directed?
Jesus is the answer, through him comes the Holy Spirit, without him no Holy Spirit.
Matt 3:11-12
11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
When does he do this?
Luke 11:13
13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

What did Jesus say about the Holy Spirit?
John 14:25-27

I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

What will the Holy Spirit do in your life?
Acts 2:38-43
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Acts 19:3-12

He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

Many times we get caught up in what things that the Holy Spirit produces rather than praising, thanking and worshipping "Jesus" as Lord and being the giver of life and being the of source of where these blessings came. Some would say " they can't see the forest for the trees".
For it him that works in us both to will and to do.
That is why Paul said I don’t have anything to boast about only in him.
