Has anyone read one of these? I have not...just wondering about the "plan of salvation" I got this from the site:

Our Gospels even feature a "Decision" page on which those who have made a decision for Christ can record the information as a reminder of their decision. The interactive process of filling in the details helps to make the decision more complete and creates greater conviction to live for Christ.

sermonindex Jul 17, 2007

I signed up Jaron. Thank you again!

I was given a Gospel of John just days before I got saved ... and I wish it had that "decision" page in it so I'd remember the exact date that it was. I just remember it was 'maybe' in June in '76 and for all the years prior to that day, I had NEVER heard the Gospel message at all.
I "love" having Two Birthdays and would have loved if I could know the exact date. Happy Born-Again Day is better even than Happy B'day cards. :-D

I didn't know Jesus died for my sin and would except me into His Kingdom through grace by faith. I was raised Catholic and everyone we knew was either Catholic or Jewish ... in our town and in our family. No one heard the gospel where I was from. Nor did we know enough to read a Bible. Back then the catholics didn't have bibles to read. Maybe a big one that they'd keep in a box, but we didn't have one.

So many people don't know the Bible at all.

I LOVE the Gospel of John.

I came to believe there was a God and believe in Jesus on my birthday. So I could say I had two birthdays on one day. haha... It is great to be able to share about that site on here and that is also great that you signed up to receive those. :-D Bless ya, Jaron

When that SPECIAL day comes, you'll have to let us know it is your NEWBIRTH-DAY.

Very Neat brother.

Thank you again very much.
Happy Annie :-D

Has anyone read one of these? I have not...just wondering about the "plan of salvation" I got this from the site:

I have ordered them. It is a shallow man-centered, seeker-sensitive, user-friendly kind of Gospel in them, aimed at getting decisions and numbers FOR Christ. The Word is there--and it is living and powerful, etc.--but this methodology of the world and phony advertising in these booklets must be exposed and avoided. The people who make them either don't know the Scriptures or the power of God.

In Christ,
Slavyan

P.S. I've personally given them away to some people, but the introduction and the gospel presentation are so carnal and formulaic, that I'm ashamed of them, and the kind of Gospel they promote. I'd rather they had the plain Gospel of John, without nothing added to it.

Slavyan

Thanks for your reply. I was afraid this might be the case after reading some of the materiel on their site.

Yeah I'd agree with NotMe in stating that the intro gospel presentation or whatever they refer to it as is pretty shallow. And I think it is pretty lukewarm because it fails to give a clear understanding of what true repentance is and it also says born again but it doesn't give alot of understanding of what that actually means. So it is not a good intro, also I don't fully agree with the sinners prayer thing. I mean I think it is ok for someone to pray for Gods' Spirit to come into their life and tell God they want to repent and surrender to Him. But the whole "false claim" that you just say a little prayer and your saved is a terrible, etrocious thing that is taking place in my opinion. But what I would consider is that you could just tear the intro out of the front of it and then you still got the The Word who is God to give to the person!

Hey there cowboy.

I'm flying with ya here.

Listen to this.....

When I was about 3, I knew JESUS, but like I said, I wasn't raised to anything else but Catholicism or Jewish stuff, but I left the RCC at 10 yr.s old because I knew it wasn't "HIM".
There were NO protestants in my life to tell me about the Gospel nor did we a have a Bible.

Anyhow, when I was 12 I saw a little add in the back of most magazines that offered a "Free Cross" and literature.

So I got a stamp and requested the literature.

It was somewhat like the daily bread, but much less and much less colorful or whatever.

I was LOVING the stuff, but my conscience bothered me that I didn't have money to send them, because I never liked taking anything for free .... so I wrote them telling them I was only 12 and didn't have any money to send them, but how greatly I appreciated their stuff and the result of that letter was ..... they quit sending the stuff. :-o

Do you know how often I think about what Could Have Happened if I heard the Gospel then and not have to wait another 10 years to hear it and get Saved-Saved ?

:-o

If I had so much as read anything like this Gospel of John ANYWHERE ~ I was so ripe for the picking since childhood ~ I would have been saved-saved then.

:-o

Thank you again Jaron. I still can't afford to buy these ---- that's why I'm so grateful that you've posted this .... so I can share my faith and send them home with the 'food' that I so much needed as a kid. :-x

Thank you Jaron!
:-D

It is awesome to read that you ordered some gospels. If you don't like the intro thing or whatever you could just rip the pages out, that is what I have done. Romans 13:1, bless ya, Jaron

Hia Jaron, I got their mail already last week and they sent two. I'm supposed to go to the site and pick which cover I like and all.

I haven't been there yet, because I wanted to ask you what versions do they have. They sent one NIV and one New Living translation.

Do you know if they offer any other translation ?

I could go there myself, but I have to allow site by site cookies, so I'll have to type all of that into my computer again, so I figured before I go Cookie-Crazy again, I'd ask ya.

Thank you again, this is exciting. Very much so brother.

BLESS YOU.

They have KJV's you can order! Also spanish and chinese gospels to. So if ya happen to have some chinese or spanish people around that could be a great option!

..... reminds me of - The One I Love - deep in the heart of Texas.

Don't ask what prompted that reply. HA !

Just that I lived in Texas for a while and The One I Love is Jesus ....

anyhow ... THANKS .... I'll go there today now.
I love KJV although at my Church they use NIV, so I'm not militant or radical on this.

I'm not radical on the inside of it neither. I think I'll leave those pages in and decide by the person and what we've discussed whether to take them out or not.
Sometimes, you can just throw one at somebody and run and just pray that they'll "get the message" by what's in there.

Hey, that could be a new Ministry.

I'll have my husband drive and I'll start throwing things at folks on the street.
If they were just little tracts, the wind would blow them away, but these have a little more weight to them, so they'll hit home .... Great!

O.K., enough playing .... Bless you Jaron.
May God multiply His blessing to you for having a heart for evangelism ~ AMEN.

What an Idea! I could try that too.

Yeah I've ordered some of these too.
