Milk is what we have to give a baby because their digestive system will not handle meat until they grow teeth to chew it up. Baby Christians are the same way. Babies require much supervision. You can’t leave them alone or they won’t survive. And God does not leave us alone either. If we are really saved he who began a good work in us will finish it. I think the point Paul was making in 1st Cor. 3:1 is that we need follow Jesus not men. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gives the increase. If we know the Word of God we will be able to tell someone how to be saved, but God is the one that initiates the salvation and the growth. The sign of spiritual maturity is that someone can distinguish what is good and what is evil. Sooner or later a Christian will not rely on what the preacher gives him on Sunday or the Sunday school teacher, they will follow along in their Bible and confirm what the preacher or the teacher preaches is truth. They will discover how important the Word of God is for their maturity and will realize that eternity is too long to be wrong. That task is impossible without we are indwelled with HIS SPIRIT. It requires the same SPIRIT to understand HIS WORD as it did for the Apostles to write it.
1 Cor 2:12-14
12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Heb 5:11-14
11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. God gives us the tools to use but often we don’t use them.
Note verse 14 “by constant use have trained themselves. Be ready to give an answer. What did James says in James 1:22-25 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Anyone want be blessed?
When the preacher starts preaching on righteousness and preaching against what our culture embraces and many people have given these sins a pet watered down name “alternative lifestyle” , “situational ethics”, “inappropriate relationships” “pro-choice” “religious tolerance” . If you step on these toes and everyone knows who I’m talking about. They are very visible. These people who claim HIM LORD will leave the church because they can’t digest the meat. Some are still babies and some of them or prenatal, they have not had a spiritual birth yet. God can stripe the baby’s legs and get them back in line and he will, but the prenatal must be born agian or it could be when they hear the Word and the seed is planted in their heart they abort it. Quench the Spirit. After a certain amount of abortions a women becomes barren and cannot give birth. I believe we can see in HIS WORD that if one aborts HIS WORD and neglects to respond to HIS SPIRIT. They could become barren and not able to produce a seed.
Luke 8:11-18
11 "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
16 "No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. 18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him."
Many in the church house, note I said in the church house not of the HIS CHURCH will tell the preacher we must be religiously tolerant. We don’t need to offend anyone. The laws of the land takes precedent in their lives over HIS laws, why I believe because they haven’t made HIM KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS yet. They are not concerned about selecting a leader in the church or the government that stands for HIS righteousness and HIS ways. They want someone who can convince them he can make their economy good and has the attitude “what God got to do with it”. We are in trouble as a nation.
The sincere meat is that “in him we live and move and have our very being”. When we no longer consider ourselves one nation under God, we will be a nation gone under.
The church body has been infiltrated with people who will run the preacher off if he gives meat and steps on toes.
Pray God will open eyes.
