Darby Bible: The Holy Scriptures

The Darby Bible (DBY) refers to the Bible as translated from Hebrew and Greek by John Nelson Darby. The English version was first published in 1890. Darby also published translations of the Bible in French and German.

Darby made the grevious error of using the corrupt 'Revised Greek Text' of Westcott and Hort to produce this work; thus it shares the error of all the 'modern versions' based on this perversion of God's Word. Anyone interested in researching these matters might find the writtings of Gail Riplinger and Les Garrett helpful.

Lord help us all receive a love for the TRUTH.

It does seem he is trying to be as literal as possible with the translation. He does use the authorized version and also the textus recptus as texts in his translation as well as other manuscripts. Reading through the bible so far I have been blessed by alot of the ways he simply brings out the greek and hebrew meanings in scripture to be more clear for the layperson which was his goal.

There is no hard evidence that Westcott and Hort Greek text is corrupt.
