Are We There Yet?

(CEV)Heb 10:34 You were kind to people in jail. And you gladly let your possessions be taken away, because you knew you had something better, something that would last forever.

(are you at this point in the Spirit to be able to have such an attitude?)

(CEV)Acts 2:45 They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever needed it.

(Many bible scholars and pastors still do not live like this, many just fault-find luke-warm Christians or waste more money on pleasures, bigger barns and other stuff instead of prayer and call it ministry. Or just plain hang out in the flesh)
Our words are not the answer to these, only the source of all holiness can make changes in others through us as we are connected to Him.

Jesus said:
I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.

(not a looking for a sign)(looking for the fulfillment of this, is not looking for a sign) I believe this generation is to fulfill this.
Think about it "REALLY" has greater works than Jesus Christ really been done since his death?

My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead.
(vs 14) I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.
(vs 15) All of us who are mature should think in this same way. And if any of you think differently, God will make it clear to you.

(vs 17) My friends, I want you to follow my example and ***learn from others who closely follow the example we set for you.***

Dear friends, keep building on the foundation of your most holy faith, as the Holy Spirit helps you to pray.

****But you are our letter,**** and you are in our hearts for everyone to read and understand.
(vs 3) You are like a letter written by Christ and delivered by us. But you are not written with pen and ink or on tablets made of stone. You are written in our hearts by the Spirit of the living God. (vs 4) We are sure about all this. Christ makes us sure in the very presence of God.
(vs 5) We don't have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own. God gives us what it takes to do all that we do.
(vs 6) He makes us worthy to be the servants of his new agreement that comes from the Holy Spirit and not from a written Law. After all, the Law brings death, but the Spirit brings life.

(KJV)Joel 2:28-29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Once Again: They gladly let their possessions be taken away, because they knew they had something better, something that would last forever.

We need to be connected to our God to be able to do these. We need to be engulfed in ***((THE TRINITY))*** --- ***(((NOT RELIGION))***
Even our undying obedience for God will fail if we are not connected to the true source of obedience (Our God). A filthy rag cannot rub something clean. (we all are filthy rags) He is the Lord who makes us Holy. ***Stay Connected to Him**** Amen.

Very cool, I have some stuff I wanna share in anwering this, when I get back from doing a couple things, I will try to respond to this.

Thank you for the humility of your question, but I assure you that you could teach me many things.
I believe the greater works of suffering and being martyred, are some of these greater works, but at the same time I know of none greater in suffering that our Lord.

I like this story:
Clement wrote: James the brother of John was brought to the tribunal seat; it was the man who was the cause of his trouble that brought him there. While seeing James condemned to suffer death, his persecutor was so moved by remorse that as he went to James" execution, he confessed Christ himself so that they were led forth together. On the way he asked James to forgive him what he had done. James paused, then replied, "Peace be to you, brother," and kissed him. They were beheaded together in 36 A.D.

So many of these works are so great since the time of Christ by those walking in Him.
But for me to attempt to answer your question the best I can, I will try to point to another very similar verse.

John 5:14-19 Afterward, Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
And therefore, did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever, he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Christ said: For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

This I believe was to be achieved through the rest of Christ's journey.

Christ says again before he goes up to the father in heaven, Greater works shall WE do. Some of these works through the Spirit such as Peter and Paul have done are great things, and some of these may add to the building blocks of greater works, but in seeing all that Christ had done and did do, and the body of Christ as a whole since his death, our greater works through Him, have yet to be complete. There is much more to come. And we truly are still going to marvel in his presence the things in these end days he does through us.

I read this in a Jewish prayer book:
If to find Him were to mean the end of seeking, it would be greater I go on seeking.

The Lord is so great we cannot know him in fullness, but when in Him we live, move and have our being, we find we are seeing things and are to see things we never conceived.

My strongest hunger even more than this study is that we all know the Lord more personally and intimately, and be connected to him in more measure we ever though possible.
