i have question given to me by the lord in a parable

In this post i can only give the secular incident and i am curious as to what spiritual people responces will be. i am only led by the holy spirit to give this question and meditate on the reponces given for my own understanding.

The other day at work while i walked outside my office to get some fresh air, I saw a pigeon on the ground with in the compounds of my work place. the pigeon was dying, I had the feeling that the local government had laid poison down to eradicate the problems that these birds leave around the place.

I had three options.

1. to humainly put the bird to death quickly so it didn't suffer
2. hold the bird in my arms until it died possibly hours later with the pain of the poison slipping through it's veins.
3. place the bird into the coolest nicest place off our garden and let it die in peace but alone

the reason i ask this question is that it will have major effects on a discision i must make at work on monday morning so i pray that some one that is truely spirit filled will have an awnser for me or will confirm my own responce.

i will keep this thread going aslong as the lords work continues to teach me in this area. :-(

Hi brother,

I am not sure what you are asking here and would rather not guess. Which of the three options you chose you did not say and to be honest I think in that tension of decision that was presented to you in that moment that likely you prayed which course of action was needed. If so brother you have your answer as it would have been done in faith and trust.

Can relate slightly as I had a similar thing happen not too long ago, apparently by someone who had poisoned a number of pigeons by some use of corn as it was evidenced by being regurgitated around their bodies. On top of that my cat had sequestered one of the the weakened birds and was presented with the same dilemma. Once we got the cat out of the picture I threw a towel over the bird to calm him and then picked him up in my arms with it, prayed what came to mind, that not a one falls to the ground without Gods knowing ... His head went back and died in my arms.

the reason i ask this question is that it will have major effects on a discision i must make at work on monday morning so i pray that some one that is truely spirit filled will have an awnser for me or will confirm my own responce.

Brother, I must ask with all charity and sincerity ... are you sure these are necessarily related?

thankyou for responding to my question, it is not a baited question. I went back to work today and had also found feathers everywhere so obviously a cat had ravaged the bird.

the option i chose at the time was to place the dove in a cool place to die alone but at the time i didn't know what God was trying to illustrate to me. your responce to the way that you dealt with the bird you found, would have been a better responce for me.

I have been blessed by God to recieve a secular job on a Probationary program dealing with clients who are released from prison to attend drug court programs. As a drug and alcohol counsellor i know that government programs only tickle the ears of clients when it comes to recovery and in most cases are highly unsuccessfull. As a Child of God, i know and have seen the power of God in peoples lives that have transformed them so much that they are no longer recognized as the person they were originally and are transformed by christ in their lives.

3 days ago i recieved my first client, his heart and mind is completley criminaly orientated. it is my job to help him to reach his goals that are laid out by the courts if he fails the 12 month program he will be sentenced the full penalty of the law, if he completes the program he will possibley recieve a suspended sentence.
At this same time the the pigeon incident happened,

this client has breached his conditions already and his actions are leading him to be cut of the program and go back to jail.

so my secular options are to
1. contact the courts and allow him to recieve the ending now so he doesnt waste the communities time.
2. leave him alone to allow time to deal with his behaviour and apply the penalty
3. compassionatley advise where he is leading and support him through the process

option 3 is deffinatley the better choice

as i read your responce, the above was revealed to me so thankyou for your responce.

my endeaver in my work is to turn the program into a success so that God may be glorified through the wisdom he speaks to my heart. and eventually i feel from the Holy spirit that this will be a parable to my ministry that the lord will start in me.
