“Now the works of the flesh are
manifest, which are these; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions,
heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I
tell you before, as I have also told you in
time past, that THEY WHICH DO SUCH
THINGS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”
Gal. 5:19-21.
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but
they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Rev. 21:27.
False prophets today declare that one can still do these things
and go to heaven. The fact is, they are going to die lost if they do
such things. Neither are they in the Lamb’s book of life now, nor
in God’s holy church, even though they may “go to church.”
The prevailing thought is that only “very bad sinners,” such
as murderers, will go to hell. Adultery and fornication (to name
but a few works of the flesh), are in the professed religious world.
The apostle Paul places those who do such under the same
judgment as the murderers. It is not just a matter of getting a
lesser reward in heaven. IT IS A MATTER OF GOING TO HELL FOR ETERNITY.
A “little” lie is a big enough sin to sink a soul in hell, for “ALL
liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone.”
The blood of Christ does NOT cover these things when they
are unrepented of and not FORSAKEN. “Repent, and turn
yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be
your ruin . . . for why will ye die . . .?” Ezk. 18:30 and 31. “The
wages of SIN is death.” Rom. 6:23a. “The wicked shall be turned
into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psa. 9:17.
Contrary to popular opinion, sinners do not go to heaven.
Sinners go to hell–even if they are religious sinners.
Heaven is for those who have been made holy through faith
in the blood of Jesus Christ.
YOUR SOUL IS PRECIOUS AND IT IS ETERNAL. It will
always have a conscience existence, either in heaven or in hell.
Dear ones, be warned. Do not die in your sin, but “flee from the
wrath to come.” “. . . Serve God acceptably with reverence and
godly fear, for our God is a consuming fire.” Heb. 12:28-29.
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was
cast into the lake of fire.” Rev. 20:15.
J.C. Ryle wrote, “...Others hold their peace about hell . . . I
dare not do so. I see it plainly in scripture and I must speak of it.
I fear that thousands are on the road that leads to it and I would
fain arouse them to a sense of the peril before them. Call it bad
taste if you like, to speak of hell. Call it charity to make things
pleasant and to speak smoothly and to smooth men with a
constant lullaby of peace. From such notions of taste and charity
may I ever be delivered. My notion of charity is to warn men
plainly of their danger. My notion of taste is to declare all the
counsel of God. If I never spoke of hell, I should think that I had
kept back something that was profitable, and should look on
myself as an accomplice of the devil.
Beware of new and strange doctrines about hell and eternal
punishment. Beware of manufacturing a God of your own, all
love, but not holy–a God who has a heaven for everybody but a
hell for none–a God who can allow good and bad to be side by side
in time, but will make no distinction between good and bad in
eternity. Such a god is an idol of your own . . . as true as an idol
was ever moulded out of brass or clay. The hands of your own
sentimentality have made him. He is not the God of the Bible.
Take heed lest you find it out too late!” & —S. Mutch
