Here I go first post, right into the deep end.Just a couple of thoughts, that I have not seen posted yet. 1. In defining a prophet.A large portion of the O.T prophets, spoke the judgement of God upon a apostate people. My thought is this. What unimaginable torture, to belong to this people, yet be told by God, that the destruction of their nation was just around the corner, [these are my people that are going to perish, be taken captive, starve to death.] To see this so clearly, yet be utterly identified with the people the judgement was spoken against. But know so clearly the justice and truth of Him who spoke, being compelled, despite all personal cost, to tell, to tell hoping and desiring that this thing spoken might not come to pass.Surely then 100% accuracy would be then, the worst thing that could happen? That it could so easily feel like,an absolute failure, so much wasted effort, at such a high personal cost, a tearing heart-breaking thing. [Jeremiah]To know the treachery of adultery, the grief of God over His unfaithful wife, through the livng with the unimaginable shame and pain of his own wife's adultery, this true oracle of God [His burden- the oracle of a prophet, called the burden of the Lord], a constant rending pain carried around in Hoseas heart. To lose as sign to your people, your wife the love of your life, the delight of your eyes, and not be even, at the command of God be permitted to grieve. That in such drastic measure, your heart hearted people might just realise the vital importance of learning to hear God when He speaks.[Ezekiel]To not fear as these people fear, not to regard the things they do, but only to regard as important those things that God regards, Him only to fear and dread. Life lived before God so that the life is considered a sign and wonder, all things in His hand including children.[Isaiah8]In these peoples lives 100% accuracy of prediction was not the defining of what was and what was not prophetic. The events they predicted were in themselves a sign a forth telling, and showing the heart of God.The reason the judgements were spoken was so that the people could repent and turn to God. The prophets cry, was a cry of despair straight from the heart of God. These judgements spoken were a warning, there is no hope in this, no desire for accuracy. To be accurate is to watch your community starve to death in front of your eyes in a seige. To have friends lying bleeding mortally wounded and trampled on dying in the street, pregnant women ripped open, innocent children watching and experiencing unspeakable attrocities, because of the deliberate blindness, brazen idolatry and injustice perpetrated there. And to know the grief of God to Whom, the greatest violence and loss has come.2.The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. [Rev]The witness, is of God. The spirit inspiring the breath of life, the life and truth Of God.The accuracy is of a clay vessel, dried and fired, that the glory within may be clearly seen as straight from origins source. And that the origin, is the Creator of all.If the testing done, testifies of our Lord Jesus, the proof of the truth, in what comes forth as gold in our lives. And if what is not, is just then let dropto the groundwhere as dust it belongs. Then we have proved in us He who Is true to usAnd the focus is On Him to it belongs.
