Massachusetts begins gay marriages

My heart has been burdened and saddened about the recent decisions about gay marriage! You know who I blame? Me...and (some of)you... Why? Because as Christians, we have sat back and let this happen. Sure, we don't support gay marriage openly. But when we continue to watch TV programs with homosexual themes, b/c they are funny, or support the stations that do so, we are supporting the homosexual activity you read about every day. If Christians really wanted to make a difference, we could, with God's help and direction. We are just too lazy and comfortable to do nothing about it. Would we dare stop watching TV? Or boycott products that advertize during homesexual or morally wrong TV shows? Heaven forbid that we unite as Christians and make a stand. Believe me, I'm guilty...I'm not pointing fingers. Let's pray for the people that are confused about homosexuality that they are convicted of their sin and they repent.

Oh no! How sad! I don't have TV, so I'm not updated on the news. I did read an article in Time Magazine a few months ago, I think, that some states were fighting to legalize gay marriages. At the time it didn't happen, and I was relieved. But now it's happened!I feel like I want to cry. [sigh] Yeah. I don't really know what to say. Hmmm... I do hope that Jesus comes soon. But in the meantime, may God give us wisdom in how to live in this world that's growing darker and darker by the day.

I know our Lord instructs "be not weary in well doing" but personally I'm about tapped out on praying for or against just straight out blatant, radical wickedness ... My spirit is willing, but my humanity is just plain tired ... Our Lord practically has me living Jeremiah right now, so much so that I'm not sure if it's Him telling me it's useless to pray against what's coming, or if I'm just feeling humanly defeated ... So I'm praying that His will be done ... Personally I've been praying for some time now that our Lord would just come on back and crack the sky, because I'm just so tired of watching people suffer ... There's an awful lot of suffering going on in the world, and I'm really tired of crying over it.I have no empathy, sympath or compassion for radical homosexuals at all ... They are hell bent determined to make their lifestyle mainstream, to the demise of the greater society ... To tell you the truth saints (pray for me if you think me wrong) I'm rejoicing that the world is escalating at an even faster downhill plunge ... I believe that we should be binding the strongman of this world in the name of jesus. our fight isn't against flesh and blood but against the powers of this world. he tells us the battle isn't ours but his. so Lord I turn the battle over to you in Jesus name.

I have watched the major news channels pretaining to this subject. I have observed a one sided presentation. All the expert opinions being aired are pro gay and lesbian. There is a distinct absences of expert opinion for traditional values created by God. So who is behind this agenda? Likewise back in the 70's abortion was legalized in the same manner. Both issues were decided by the Supreme Courts. This is our government. Who is in control? A year after the abortion issue was decided on, Henry Kissinger requested a study be done on population growth and how it effects the economic vitality of the USA. The outcome of that research has effected the decisions of our government for the last 30 years. The US goverment decided to promote family planning. They recommended that women should enter the work force. Just think how many more people would be alive today in the USA if abortion was illegal. I would have to thank you for being open and honest too. Reminds me of David in the Psalms, or Job... well you know, in Job.What really stood out to me in your post is that you said you're praying for God's will.Now... I've been kind of wondering with... well, this whole talk of revival. I totally believe in revival in the heart of each Christian because I think the enemy has a lot of us wounded or missing in action. As for the rest of the world and our nation... well, you know, God DID NOT promise or even give us hope that most of the world would come to know Him. His heart is that everyone would be saved, but He's laid the facts for us already in His Word. I think there's a reason for that. He knew there would be many times that we would feel crushed, burdened, saddened, etc. over the evilness and persecution of the world.I was just thinking about this yesterday... we got Noah, building an arc during very evil times. Ummm... how many people actually ended up on his boat? Not that many. That was like 100 or so years of witnessing. Does that mean he didn't do his part? No. Does that mean that God wanted all those people to die in the flood? No.Or how about Abraham and Lot. Abraham pleaded with God in several prayers to not destroy Soddom & Gomorrah if He found such and such many righteous people. And how many righteous were found in all those people? Like none! And I think it was by God's grace that Lot, his wife, and 2 daughters were saved. I mean, Lot's wife looked back at the city and turned into salt. And then Lot's daughters slept with him! Right? How righteous is that?You know, us Christians are ALWAYS going to be outnumbered. We didn't join this team to conquer the world. Someday, when Jesus returns, He'll conquer the world, but not us right now. I keep thinking about in Matthew, I think, where it says that we walk the straight and narrow path. It's not like we don't know. Our nation falling shouldn't be a surprise. You know, it's for this reason that I think God gave us Revelations. With all the darkness that is yet to come, there is hope. We will win! But not in this lifetime. That's why we look forward to heaven and that this world in not our home. We're just passing through. I pray and hope that many more will be passing through with us, but many will be left behind.This may sound cowardly to some of you, spiritually speaking, but I honestly thank God that I'm saved and that anyone else is for that matter. So I agree, Jesus come quickly and may Your will, God, be done!

Yolanda,I am pretty much in agreement with you there. I am in the business of praying for the Lord's will to be done. There was a reason that jesus taught His disciples to pray according to the "Lord's prayer". Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.Personally I can't wait for that day when He comes in His fullness to restore all that is His back to Him.Also what you said about us being outnumbered is so very, very true. Jesus did say that the gate is narrow and not many will enter in. What do we think "not many" means. It certainly doesn't mean all 1000's of supposdly christian converts at every crusade. Right now there are more people in the U.S. that claim to be "Christian" than anytime I can think of. With the mega churches and the Purpose Driven Life and all the hoopla to get people to go to church- church attendance is sky rocketing.hmmmmmm. Not many will enter in through the narrow gate.To tell you the truth, when I see the stuff about gay issues, it doesn't bother me much worse than someone with hidden pride or someone who is a hypocrite. I am very sensative to 'heart sins'- if that's what you want to call them. I can spot a hypocrite a mile away. This makes me more sick than almost any sin I can think of. It is lying to God.I think the article on 'the 5 Sins that Jesus hated the most' is pretty clear that these other sins such as pride and hypocrisy and unbelief are equal to or worse sins than sodomy- I think mainly because they are "heart sins" -heart issues. The sins of the heart (which are usually hidden) are of the worst kind.If you hold up America to these standards- then we failed the test long, long ago. If I see one more "American Pride" Sticker this summer I will vomit.I think the sodomy issue is just another mark of evidence of the age we live in.If I was in the presence of two people: one being a gay man who was admittedly gay- then the other person is a church leader who is supposed to be a christian but is still living for himself and full of spiritual pride because of his position, and is a terrible example of Christlikeness at home.... My heart would go out to the gay man and my Godly anger would burn (until I got the zeal under control ;-) ) toward the hypocritical man.We must remember that people who are living the gay lifestyle are in bondage- just like someone who is in bondage to alcohol or any other bondage. Chanin,Hmmm... true. Yikes, conviction! You know, I have known deep down inside somewhere that... well, like what you said. It's easier to get grossed out by sin such as homosexuality, but what about the other sins? This whole thing still saddens me but... I do need to work on... my reaction to the sinners I guess. Hate the sin, but love the sinner, right? I don't want to be like the Pharisees were, outraged that Jesus would be hanging out with "scum" like tax collectors and the like. He touched, talked to, and ate with the ones the "spiritual" people stuck their noses up at, if I'm correct in what I remember from God's Word. Above all, love, right?And you know, I've been thinking, I've heard that other countries are really secular and godless, but you know, I just think they don't hide things like America does. Nothing has changed really. Isn't it in... Ecclesiastes where it says that there's nothing new under the sun? If anything, we've just been polished on the outside as a country. But Jesus hated the pride with which he thought of his spiritual activitiesand with which he dispised others. Thanks Sister Diehl, I can use all the encouragement I can get, for I've just come off a message to my pastor/church that's been 20 painful years in delivery (regarding His final Revival) and it doesn't seemed to have made a dent ... So needless to say I'm tired, but relieved that the Lord has given me a "well done, my good and (but not always) faithful servant" ... In my spirit He's told me that now it's between He and my pastor/church, as the message has been delivered ... So like I said I'm tired after the fact, but resting in that my job has been done in this regard ... That is why my entire prayer life now is, "Lord, thy will be done on earth, as it already is in heaven" ... But I have to believe that Revival is coming because of what He said to me those 20 years ago is, "My final Revival is coming, and it will begin here". ... At the beginning of 2004 He aggressively impressed in my spirit, "Now is the time" ... There's a final harvest that must take place before He comes for His Bride ... Before He can come for His Bride we must be without spot or blemish ... There is only one phenomena that will accomplish this dual task in one fell swoop ... One last GREAT RE-VIVAL, before His RE-ARRIVAL! ... There is a small hand shaped cloud on the horizon, and the latter rain is about to catch many in Christian City unawares ... Amen PS - And not because they haven't been told/warned, but because they didn't believe. Actually the word "final" is what most use to discard my "word" ... but that's what I heard God say ... Time will tell.

Here's a verse I read this morning in my devotions that I thought might encourage everyone under this topic:"... The believers were walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit."- Acts 9:31bIt seems that some of us here have the "fear" thing down, but what about the Holy Spirit's "comfort"?Here's another verse that just came to mind that might be encouraging:"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths."- Proverbs 3:5 & 6Do you know how hard it is sometimes to live by faith and not by sight?! What helps me to not get discouraged and weighed down by things like this gay marriage thing being legalized in our country is keeping an eternal perspective. There's something going on that our eyes don't see. There's things being planned beneath the surface of this life. Again, I believe that Revelations gives us our hope. Satan may be the Prince of this earth right now, but God is the Alpha & the Omega!

We are perplexed, but we don't give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. Through suffering, these bodies of ours constantly share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies" (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).

Good verses Yolanda! Very encouraging during these times. This is a very sorrowful issue and it's comforting to know that He has already beaten this. All that we are called to do it take heart and be faithful in prayer till He returns.

Oh yeah, I forgot this verse too:"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6 & 7).
