We read in Jeremiah chapter 2 many tragic words from the pen of the prophet. "The priest said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not." The priests and spiritual leaders of Israel did not know that the Lord's manifest presence had left them. And even worse the teachers that were handling the scriptures did not know God but were professional pulpiters parading as priests. The prophet goes on to write: "my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." Is it no less so in the church today in North America? We are running on self-sufficiency which is simply "broken cisterns" to God. We need a revival that will radically renew the pulpit and revive the pews. We need a revival so that the church can be "holiness unto the Lord." It is coming.
