war at work

on wednesday at work i got trapped into conversation with my co-workers about the bible. i knew i shouldn't have engaged in conversation (thowing my pearls before swine) because it felt like they didn't wont anwsers they just wanted to express their hatred towards God. after continous insults towards God i thought that i had no fresh mana to speak on the subject and that my words had no effect.but i remained stable on my beliefs and the promises of God.

when i walked outside to talk to God about it the holy spirit told me that it was not the words from my mouth that were under fire it was the strength of my faith. a light came on in my spirit and when i walked back inside with this knowledge i was able to see this very clearly. I saw a victory for God in the spirit realm. Satan tried to rock my faith before his servants but instead they saw Gods strength with in me that is built by the lord Jesus Christ. I pray that the sand that they have built there house on will erode in the wind so that they will be only able to run to the rock for saftey!

This is a great lesson to learn.

I would encourage you not to let 'their hatred towards God' seem to be the eternal status quo for them. Many have come to Christ through a work colleague's faithful witness and testimony, and you will be the first person they come to if they realise through some natural situation they can't control, that they need help to get through it.

An elder I much respect, once shared how as a young man he worked in a factory with a huge furnace. One of the men was very antagonistic of his Christianity, and was big enough to lift this young man up, and hold him over the opening to the fire, with the words 'Say you're not a Christian. Say you're not a Christian. Say you're not a Christian.' The other men managed to persuade him to put the Christian down safely, but it was a very challenging experience.

The young man had become a Christian partly because a much older man in a previous job had prayed for him faithfully, even shedding tears when the youngster would scornfully say 'Don't pray for me, old man...'

These memories of testimonies, and your testimony of being strengthened by the prayers of the saints here, are making me appreciate prayer in a new way and with much more respect for it. I think I have lacked constancy, miserably.

--- Amen ... i've encountered many unsaved folk in the world who couldn't give two hoots about
my Christian faith, and then i've met others (much fewer) who're surely tools of the devil in that
they'd attack me about it every chance they got ... i just got finished reading Christopher Hitchen's book "God is not Great" in which he plainy states in his pure logic why he hates Christianity, but one of the main things that sticks out is how much disdain he has for believer's in Christ ... It's like it's not "the faith" that really upsets such folk, but moreso the fact that anyone could have such unshakable faith in "the faith" ...

A couple of weeks ago Holy Spirit brought this scripture before me ...

1John.5
[4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

... i've been pondering it ever since ... It sounds kinda simple in it's statement, but sometimes i can hardly get my head around it in grasping it's brevity of spiritual importance ... The devil has his warriors to attack us, and in ever keeping in mind that ours is not a battle of flesh and blood, i often think that in such attacks my faith in Christ must be much stronger, or even more visible, than i even think for him to go so far out of his way to attack it ...

Blessings in Christ Jesus our Lord, Savior, and Power of overcoming the world, and the god of it :-D ---

these replies stand true within my spirit, the lesson in which God was teaching me was that the unsaved are truely baffled with the strong stances that true christians have in their faith and marvell at the fact that we do have an assurrance in our purpose and salvation.

even meditating on this today i can see this through the way they tried to denounce Christ from every angle of the conversation such as:

1. the bible is only a fairy tale book
2. Jesus was a great man but not a God
3 christianity has destroyed this world
4. God is evil so why would i believe in a God that kills women and children
5. George Bush calls himself a christian but he does evil actions.
6. with out religion their would be no law.

i gave the anwsers to these but i can see that with in their hearts, they knew the anwsers but chose to fight against it and will continue to do so because it challengs the sin with in their lives.
