Is this site what I was looking for?

I haven't read any other posts,
but the replies on the one preivious post title I"m greatly dissalusstioned gave me great encouragement.
I live in Korea and I've been looking for places where it was about Jesus.
Not about manifetation, although they happen,
not about miracles, and they happen too,
not about having faith in what you say, but having faith in the Character of Jesus who loves us and gracioursly give all things...
But all about Jesus.
I've encountered some sites like www.thefellowshipofthemaryrs.com which seemed radical and critisized the apostolic movement as being in the cregy and laity, and not about Christ but they didn't seem to have too much love..
I'm very suspicious of the people who prophesy properity and all the good stuff to american and think that Bush is doing a good thing like Joshua's army attacking the Middle East. I even heard that bush met with famous Christian leaders before attacking Iraq. Totally unscirptual..
I'm trying to find a home where one loves Jesus and is will radically do all things (because I want to be like that but am not really like that) and at the same time, won't just say things that our itching ears want to hear but bring true anguish in the believers heart so that they may repent.
All revivals start from repentance so...

I have a lot of questions that I can't ask my church leaders.
FOr example Watchman Nee teaches in his live by the spirit book that the absent of thinking is the best way to get possesed or feel the presence of the devil. Now we see many times in the charsmatic movement where believers are encouraged not to think but to "take it in" or to "breathe the Holy Spirit." Kind of confusing..

I am from South Africa and I think this is the place to be although in my opinion some times it's a bit america only type of thing but I guess other people on this site is from america.

Another thing is if you are looking for encouragement you will find it here and I believe except for some know it all people you will find mostly friendly people that will help you and encourage you whenever you ask for help.

And the since most of the sermons is old and classic you dont have to worry to much about the prosperity thing as they teach about Jesus.

The apostle Paul praised the Bereans for their searching and testing his teaching, God's teaching.
Not only Nee wrote about the absence of thinking but also Jessie Penn Lewis, if you are familiar with her writings.
In her book, War on the Saints, there is a whole chapter on passivity.

The passivity is encouraged also in meditation and yoga. The guru wants his disciples to concentrate on something imaginary and travel in their imagination. In this way they have all kind of spiritual experiences.
This is the Satan's trick to get control of their will and later whatever their guru (with Satan behind him) will tell them they'll submit to it. Unfortunately there are such "gurus" in the church so we must test every teaching, use our mental faculties and not eat everything that flies.

jiyouk, I wouldnt be too quick to park yourself in the mental realm.
This is why the pharisees couldnt regognise Jesus. They were mental only ....devoid of spirit.
Jesus spake many parables that hid his words from the pharisees. But he did interpret them to the disciples.
This is the pattern today. Jesus words neeed interpreting.The Holy Spirit interprets.
Its kind of a catch 22....A person thats brain dead cannot serve God....However a person with a mental gospel is like a one armed paper hanger.
Jesus said"doth this offend you?.....it is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing

your mind will decieve you but Jesus never will.
This is why you can talk for hours to a person in a cult and get nowhere. They cant see cause they sre spiritually blinded.

It is interesting that Jesus was misunderstood beecause of ....mental religious leaders ....it seems in these last days that is becoming the popular m.o.
Note what Jesus didnt say "Walk in the mind and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh."
Or where in the word is the "walk mentally" doctrine?

across as prevalent on SI (especially since Holy Spirit used a Canadian to bring it into the natural :-P) ...

You won't find "perfection" here, but i'd say that most SI'ers have a real heart for Christ, and (as i believe) if you're here you were led here by the Spirit of God ...

Having said that, I’m sure that God can use you to build into lives here on SI too. No doubt you have some helpful insights and perspectives for us. I look forward to hearing from someone who lives in a different cultural/geographical background.

We don’t always see in what ways we have become like our culture, but someone from the outside can see it better. Sharing those observations will help us learn about ourselves and also appreciate the wider Body of Christ.

I thought I would search this site and see if anyone is reading Watchman nee. I am on my third reading of “The Spirital Man” by W.Nee. I find every page to be so full of the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus that I just can’t put it down. Ah, if you are able to read Nee and feel the movement of the Holy Spirit in your spirit what a blessing indeed.

Listen to Dr. Tozer, I have heard almost all and read all his published works. He is one of the best. Also, E.M.Bound, Diary of David Brainard.
