Devotional: Have you ever asked the LORD to show you HIS footprints in the sand…so that you could follow HIM? In this analogy, HE was forced to drag HIS cross behind HIM towards Golgatha. As such, the end of the Cross was drug along the ground well back of HIS steps.
Preceding Calvary
When the LORD said to take up our cross
and follow HIM,
HE left more than HIS footprints to guide us.
Yea, when the path set before HIM was Calvary,
HE pressed on…
so from Death would HIS purpose then hide us.
Before seeing Sovereignty’s footprints
as I travel…
so my vision beholds a deep trail.
Here the tail of the Cross drug behind HIM
is visible
which informs me HIS gift did not fail!
Eternal Life’s promise…is certain
most surely
because HE shrunk not from GOD’s plan….
to rescue the guilty by paying their debts
like those carried
as Sin in the palms of these hands!
Abandon such weights I must full exchange
for the crimson
– embedded –in HIS Cross – for my sins
since the frame which “supported” my Saviour
was purposed
to show me the path to HIS footprints.
