A prayer for the believers at Sermonindex

Brothers and sisters,

This evening I was listening to a reading of the 20th Psalm. As I listened, it seemed as though the words were gently quickened. The thought occured to me: could we not pray this for each other? Maybe there is someone on your heart.

Psalm 20(KJV)

The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble;
the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
Send thee help from the sanctuary,
and strengthen thee out of Zion;
Remember all thy offerings,
and accept thy burnt sacrifice;

Selah.

Grant thee according to thine own heart,
and fulfill all thy counsel.

We will rejoice in thy salvation,
and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:
the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.
Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed;
he will hear him from his holy heaven
with the saving strength of his right hand.

Some [i]trust[/i] in chariots,
and some in horses: but we will remember
the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought down and fallen:
but we are risen, and stand upright.
Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.

could we not pray this for each other? Maybe there is someone on your heart.

Chris, you have been a gentle stream these past couple of weeks. I am so very glad I had the opportunity to meet you face to face in Canton.

Mike and Dorcas, I know I have been enriched by meeting you both. I have fond memories of our time together Dorcas and I believe Jackie does also. Mike, I only wish we all had more time together at the conference than three days, to get to know each other more.

Maybe very near to the time you were posting this, I was meditating on Psalm 37:29, which I listened to a reading of yesterday also. And I had a thought which is remarkably similar to what you shared!

I was thinking how inadquate we are to kindle the fire in us. I asked within myself, what are our sparks compared to the flame of Him that is God?

Nearly identical thoughts!

"Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind."

"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:"

- 1 Peter 3:8(KJV)

"May we hold each other up as we go on together; may we go on indeed."

"Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind."

- Phillipians 2:2(KJV)

"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:"

- 1 Peter 3:8(KJV)

Brother, there can never be enough promotion of these things I am flatly convinced. This 'one' mind is that which the Lord prayed for [i]us[/i] and the events of the conference has so proved it out, proved just how much real room there is in minor matters, better ... just how many matters are truly minor.

Not only enriched as well but entrenched ... so far have these things burned in just to be in each others presence. Still, the processing goes on and the expectations are those that I still don't think we may have fully laid hold of. Goodness, that sounds very much over the top, but something tremendous, perhaps subtle, but tremendous nonetheless is working in and through all this. Signs of it are showing ...

What I have seen from the posters from the conference, is just this, it seems like the Lord has showed many people how important this "one" is, how necessary it is for his purposes through his church. And I experienced this a wile back wile i was visiting a fellowship in Norway. God showed me some important truths about his plan for the church and how it supposed to be in unity in love as one body. Now i know these words are very common to all of us. But are they a reality? can you say with total honesty before God i am one with those five fellows there. We are one. Or is there some of these "minor" things that differ? just my thoughts. But I am very encouraged by what I have read from the conference. How God has showed so many some very important things and how it seems like the fellow ground is being broken up.

I also want to share a testimony an old man shared in Norway. He spoke about the lowest place in the church is the best for a believer. And he shared about a statue that is somewhere in Oslo. And this statue is hundreds of people crawling on each other to get on top. And he said if we were to turn it up side down, we would get a good illustration on how we as a church should be. Crawling and working our way down to the bottom.

This has been my prayer for many years. I would consider it a joy and privilege if you folk here join me.
