"every tongue and tribe and people and nation"

sermonindex Nov 11, 2007

I was just thinking of the way that certain words seem to be almost the same in many languages.

One is "tea": chai, cha, chai the, te etc.

But the greatest of course is the Name of Jesus. For He is become the Saviour of all mankind, and the blessing of Abraham has gone forth to all nations...

In English, Jesus

In Hebrew Yeshua

In Welsh, Yesu (pronounced "Yesee")

In Greek Iesous

In Bantu African languages, Yesu (pronounced "Yesoo")

..............................................................

I'm sure others can add to the list

In Him, who is given a Name above every name!
