I found this interesting Calvin quote, and maybe i am more of a Calvinist then i first thought?

“No man is excluded from calling upon God, the gate of salvation is set open unto all men: neither is there any other thing which keepeth us back from entering in, save only our own unbelief”

much love

Hello Brother.

I liked that quote, but still don´t understand why that make anybody a Calvanist. Brother, Why call our selfs Calvanist or Arminist I have never seen those words in the Bible anyway. Why not just simply be called Christians(Followers of Chist, Christ like) instead of following some man with an Ideology of What God ment to say in the Bible. Belive the Bible wich is what God said. Im nither of those, Im just simply a sinner that God had mercy upon, clensing me and making me another man, having the sinner me crusified on the Cross with Christ, so that he may have his will on me at all times, controling everything and allthings that I do. Im sorry if I might offended anybody that has read this, but Im just Glad Im his son, not following any other man that is not Jesus Christ himself. Christianity can be that simple, and indeed it is. Just follow Jesus the Christ and everything else will be added. We tend to complicate things, our own fears and our way of not trusting in God to the fulles is what makes all things seem complicated. Brothers/Sisters just have faith that God is enough, let him be all in all in you. Don't be an Arminist or a Calvanist, just be a Child of God and let everything else be as it is, God will show you in due time what he wants you to know, trust him, He does know what he's doing. God Bless

dear brother or sister
LiveforGod, I posted this with a bit of humor intended. The quote is rather arminian I thought coming from John Calvin. I am no calvinist nor am i an arminian. I am a christian. A follower of the risen son of God. But there are some brethren here that will understand the "fun" in this quote. Or i hope so.

God bless

Christian
