Romans 12:1-2 - " I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Kindness, gentleness and goodness are words to be considered and restored in the modern Church.
And it is done by the presence of a sacrificial spirit in our midst.
Pursue these things. . .
To be honest, when I first read this question I thought, 'We'll never know'.
I have never seen it, have you?
Most Christians are sacrificial to a certain level, there seems to be a mark they don't overstep. It's too painful to do so.
To sacrifice is one thing. To be a living sacrifice is another.
Sure, I can give up time, money, food, who can't?
But to go one step further, that's asking a lot, yet God doesn't ask us to be living sacrifices, He tells us.
Now what?

The force of a living testimony, of a living sacrifice, would constitute a provocation unto revival.
It would bring the Church to its knees and take the world to a point of trembling before the Word.

An instrument, sovereignly taken up by God in relation to His purpose, while knowing His main thought as to His purpose, needs to be kept every moment, at every step, under God’s hand to be disciplined in relation to that thought, to be governed entirely by God.
It is within the sacrificial framework this discipline is established and maintained. Through this means a testimony is thoroughly established – not by words and arguments, but through life itself expressed in godly terms. The greatest virtue in the eyes of God is faithfulness.

We are touching the nerve of revival thinking as we consider what the Church would be like if we turned our attention to the purpose of God, to allow him to work in our midst the sovereign work of grace.
How many church leaderships require visible born again evidence, after a verbal profession of faith, as the only means of being added to the church?
By leadership I mean Pastors,Elders, Deacons.

I think we can read from the passages the lost infiltrated the early church. Paul warned from prison that it was happening. But he gave Holy inspired instructions to the church on what to do when this happened. But now most church members will tell you what I do after I leave the church on Sunday is none of the Pastors or the leaderships business, regardless of what it is.
What would happen if more Christians, instead of "acting like" living sacrifices, actually BECAME living sacrifices? There is already too much acting in the Church, and not enough genuine repentance and dying to ourselves to allow the life of Christ to dwell in us. Myself included.
What would the Church be like if we all began to pray according to pattern. . .
As in Heaven, so on Earth. . .
What do we expect Heaven to be like?
Do we have any revelation of what Heaven is like?
Do we have any revelation of what Christ is like?
What about “Christ in us, the hope of Glory?"
