Christian means Christlike or little Christ. Our lives need to shine forth the light and love of Jesus Christ. We need to ask ourselves do people see Jesus in our actions? Do we look like Christ as though reflected in a mirror? Is our love put into action? Our lives should be a reflection of the light inside of us. 1 Peter 2:9 says but ye are a choosen generation,a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Whether the surface is rough or smooth has a tremendous impact upon the reflection of a beam of light. Our walk with Christ should be a reflection of Him. Our lives should point people to Christ. I want people to see Jesus in me. His light should be so bright the world can't miss it. He should be reflected in my thoughts, behaviors and attitudes. It is important to reflect Christ so we can make a difference in our world. Matthew 5:14-16 states Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. I will never forget as a young child riding home with my grandpa and grandma in the back seat of his car. Up ahead was the city he lived in sitting on a hill. It was nighttime and all you could see were lights. Are our lives reflecting this light? I like the song Say So by Israel Houghton. Some of the words are What does it mean to be saved? Isn't it more than just a prayer to pray? More than just a way to Heaven? What does it mean to be His? To be formed in His likeness? Know that we have a purpose? To be salt and light in the world in the world. Oh that the church would arise Oh that we would see with Jesus eyes. We could show the world Heaven. Show what it means to be His to be formed in HIs likeness show them THEY have a purpose. I am redeemed. Let the redeemed of the Lord rise, rise up, rise up.
