FREE Ministry/Church Website!

sermonindex Dec 6, 2007

Brethren,

I got to meet with the brothers that have made a great website solution for ministries called: www.advancedministry.com

they are offering free solution so that churches and small ministries can have a nice simple few page website.

I highly recommend this service and am getting the revivalconference and oldpaths magazine website to transist over to this platform.

I encourage you to get a free account and play around with the tool there are many great uses for it, from a PERSONAL ministry website to using it for a church.

Let me know if you signed up and put a link to the page.

Start here:

On another note they are going to be God willing adding a "module" to their system for "classical" vintage sermons supplied by sermonindex.net I am pretty excited about this possibility. What a great way to promote SI sermons on church and ministry websites in this sytem.

Has anyone signed up and tried out this free tool?

Brother,

That is a great idea for the free sites, can you post a link to your site where you did this?

I think sermoncloud offers 1 year of free uploading / 52 sermons; after that I am not clear on the pricing, but seems to be a great way to kickstart a web site with audio,

When doing this on the free yellow/lemon AM package you'll have to setup your 1 extra page or set it as a link (or both as the sample address below)
( Not from the sermon feature - in the free package it is not yet active,)
& I named the extra page as 'Sermons'

here is a test site address:
http://www.advancedministry.com/sites/index.cfm?i=3726

hope this helps :-)

I think the only downside to advancedministry is the lack of sermon archiving space in all packages; I hope they can find a way to beef it up a bit (maybe 1$ per sermon past listed amount or something..)
other than that, I think its a great resource

It also has tremendous tracking features integrated with Google.
In the About us area > Contact info / Pref. > scroll down on General Profile Page > Google Analytics Code, click on 'more info' link and copy and paste info from Google into box and submit,

You' ll have tracking features that are very in depth - which will help site admin. to know the sites reach in various states & countries and time spent on the site etc.....

Again: this is a great resource and very user friendly

One other thing that I noticed upon further testing, is the lack of search engine detection, if i type in the exact phrase of metatags & other phrase as they appear in the site in the search box on google, yahoo, etc.. nothing is picked up
So it seems that no traffic will be picked up unless you type the direct URL in the browser address bar,
( It's a Free site & i'm not complaining )
Just wondering if anyone has advice that could help
&
O'yea I did register the test site with yahoo & google, it didn't seem to help either.

It takes weeks at a time for google to properly search engine index sites, especially when they are small and not "linked" to. There is a SEO (search engine optimization) tool in the website backend I believe.

So registering the site with Google etc. probably speeds up the process a few days with the overall pickup being weeks/months,
Thanks again

BUMP... This is a tremendous resource;

(& I finally got the bugs work out in SermonCloud too- I guess it functions with a few oddities in MAC browsers )

TESTING SITE HERE

I am tracking the site with google analytics & it works great..

(((The only downside is the SEO,, maybe a few more days to weeks???)))

Quick Question: Would the SEO be better if a direct domain name was purchased and redirected??
