HIS hand is upon me....

Devotional: Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” HIS hand is upon me in this hour. But I cannot remove it nor can I truly avoid it. Surrendering to HIS will and purpose for my life, combined with the required molding into HIS image…requires that I stand. Stand ye, beloved! Accept the chiseling and the honing process with Joy knowing your redemption draweth nigh! Amen and amen!

In HIS Grasp

HIS hand is upon me
and I cannot turn
from nor to HIM further
till the time of my trial is passed.

HIS hand is upon me
as HE has purposed
until what I must learn
has been accepted as for my good.

HIS hand is upon me
and I have no worth
nor self righteousness left
to suggest HE has erred in my training.

HIS hand is upon me
to fully submit
and surrender this will
which is painfully absent of chains.

HIS hand is upon me
until such pairing
of both actions and passions
to entwine in pursuit of the Cross.

HIS hand is upon me.
I cannot refuse
else these lessons repeat
and lost is that day…from HIS service.

Yes, if we refuse and choose not to humble ourselves before Him the lesson will repeat and that day will be lost. I pray God give us pure, submissive hearts that please Him . John 21:18 says, in Jesus words Verily Verily I say unto thee when thou wast young thou girdest thyself and walkeedst whither thou wouldst but when thou shalt be old thou shalt stretch forth thy hands and another shall gird thee and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. These words refer to the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. At his own request he was crucified head downward because he considered himself unworthy to be crucified in the same manner as the Lord. If Peter did this how much more should we consider allowing the Lord to break us. We can be joyful on this road because it is the road the Lord reveals Himself to us on. Jesus had spoken of Peters future ministry now He spoke of his death. I also beleive that people in ministry should be crucified to a greater extent because only when something is crushed will His glory come out. Indeed, God is a loving FATHER who disciplines His children. This leads us to repentance and restoration. It makes us more like Jesus. At times, this may seem harsh but God disciplines us with love and compassion. Through various trials(learning opportunities) He refines and matures us to become more like Him and useful in His kingdom. Truly, this is radical Christianity.
