Devotional: Job 23:10 "But HE knows the way that I take; when HE has tested me, I will come forth as gold." Today as I traveled, with all the hustle and bustle of the season and vehicles racing everywhere, I thought. “What if there was no damage if two cars hit each other at high speed?” What I soon realized was that if so, though none would be hurt, the damage was that none would surrender their approach. If there’s no consequence, why move “out of the way”? So it is the loss and pain of our sins which prepare us as sinners to kneel and “discover” the Cross! At HIS direction, we then see Calvary in front of us and can thank HIM for each discomfort which distracts us from a self centered walk. Amen and amen.
The “Accidental” Benefit
What if everyone’s movements
could travel as fast
as they wished?
What if no consequences
could ever occur
save lost time?
Without accidents or death,
each “intersection”
would be painless.
As Life’s clouds, thus o’erlapping,
they soon disembark
and press onward.
Yet no value would surface
nor would one change course
without loss.
So these pains which confront us
bring Love’s Light needed then
to see HIS Cross.
As HIS servant in your service,
WVW Jasnoch (12/10/07)
