Ok I am sure most of us here have received them before at some point if not "you have been Blessed" I don't like getting them at all, or the way some of them try and put you under some sort of condemnation if you don't pass them along. You know the type, your Prayers will be answered if you pass this on to 10 people in 10 minutes and etc. Ok now here is my question as "Christians" how do we respond in a Christian manner to the folks that send them to us, when most folks are family and friends without hurting anyone's feelings? Is there a line some of you use or what? I need to reply sometimes because I keep getting them from the same persons and I want to let them know as sweet as I can that I don't pass these things along, just looking for some feedback.

To be perfectly honest, if I have to send on a poorly written email to my unsaved friends and family to let them know that I'm a Christian, then I'd better check my position before God.

I used to wear those wristbands, y'know the 'WWJD' type, along with a badge on my bag that said, 'Hello, I'm forgiven!' The fact is, I got convicted, because it was as if I ~~[i]~~subconsciously slacked off in my witness[/i] because my badge would tell people that I was a Christian, so I didn't have to, did I?

Christ is not a fashion.

So then, I don't feel remotely bad for ignoring emails about what a pants Christian I am if I don't pass this on to every one of my non-Christian friends, I don't feel less Christian for ignoring Facebook groups telling me to join or I don't love God enough. If I'm using these to let people know I'm a Christian, then I'm in need of some prayer.

Every morning I go thru my email and delete anything that even remotely looks like span or a chain email. Dont even look at who sent it. I usually end up with about 4 or 5 emails after I delete all the junk.

Well it sounds like you guys are doing the same thing as I have been doing with the feedback I have received so for, maybe I just need to keep doing what I have been doing all along deleting and ignoring them and all will be fine.

This is true of all SPAM messages. Be very careful about emails from eBay, banks, etc... which look legitimate (including their web address) but are only out to phish for your personal information. This happened to a friend of mine, and he has paid dearly for it. If there is a question, open a new Internet browser window and visit the LEGITIMATE website. My eBay identity was recently hacked and stolen (from an IP in Africa), but eBay's security software prohibited purchases until I was informed. Thankfully, this issue was resolved without the time, effort and headache that was experienced by my friend.

This warning also goes out concerning all of those SPAM emails from Africa (or India, Indonesia, etc...) which claims that you were "chosen" to receive a huge amount of money (either settlement funds or an inheritance) because of your involvement in ministry. I receive at least a dozen emails a day from malicious identity thieves (mostly in Africa) hoping for a reply to such an "answer to prayer" message. Just delete and ignore!

Yea, those are my favorite... as if they picked my name out of the air to give me $2M to hold on to for them... Sad part is, if those emails didnt work the wouldnt send them. Some people fall for anything, I guess.

Hi Bill,

Great question. I do usually delete them but I have one right now from a preacher's wife, which says if I don't send it on I'll be showing I'm afraid to acknowledge God publicly. I hope no-one here thinks that's true! Still, I hope to send on polite reply when I get round to it - well after the deadline for the chain.

Your predicament getting from the same folk regularly, I think you need to find a way to let them know how you feel. Maybe they could send you their latest testimony instead.

Now there's a challenge which might slow them up a bit... :-)

See I agree with you on that we do need to find a way to let them know how we feel, so maybe they will quit forwarding them to us and this was actually why I posted. Deleting is easy but taking a stand is a little harder, but we need to send a message somehow even to our friends and family that this is not right, but how? thats was basically my question.

maybe the one that sent the e-mail could be sent something christian. Like a scripture or testimony?......Just thinking out loud
