Habakkuk 3:19 says The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deers feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk asked questions as part of his prophetic message. He wanted to know what God was doing and why. God also understands when we ask Him questions when we do it in the right spirit. God did not strike Habakkuk down for this. Instead he answered.
Part of his hymn of faith in the Lord is the above Scripture. Some of the questions we might have are is God there and does He care? Like Habakkuk we can walk away with faith in what God can do. Hinds feet denotes an ability to overcome difficult challenges successfully. We are able to overcome through the strength the Lord provides us.
A hind, a red female deer, is able to move quickly and easily across the rocks of a mountain leaping from one rock to another without losing its footing. The Bible says He sets my feet upon a rock. He is my sure foundation. God empowers us to overcome obstacles that challenge us, doing things that would otherwise be dificult or impossible without divine aid.
He will give those who live by faith the same confidence that a sure footed deer has in climbing mountains. Deers are able to climb onto high places. In the Spiritual sense the high places are where the Lord and His presence is. We can be firmly established, steadfast and unmoveable.
When we put our eyes on the Lord we are less likely to stumble, fall or err. Psalm 18:33 says He makes my feet like the feet of deer and sets me on my high places. Blessings.
