FEAR YE NOT ME?
"Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” -Jeremiah 5:21-31
ITS MIDNIGHT!
It’s midnight and mankind does not know it. This warning is as much for myself and any other Christian as it is for those who are wayward or unbelieving. God is calling out with love and mercy to pardon and recieve those that are contrite and humble in heart. Repent now and seek God with all your soul. Obey the voice of God and esteem His Scriptures highly. For the grass will wither and fade but the Word of the Lord "will endure forever.”
Listen to the burdened heart of Chad Mellorn, sharing the only hope for America: "If there is any hope for this nation, it is not in the Whitehouse! It is not in the church house! It is not in the courthouse! It is the true men and women of God, who are willing to count themselves dead already, who are willing to obey God at His every word no matter the cost! It is in men like Noah, a preacher of righteousness who obeyed all that the Lord commanded him. It is in true Christ-like people who are faithful to the death. It is in men who have counted all things loss for the Excellence of the Knowledge of Him! I believe it is God’s constraining Spirit that has kept this nation standing to this day. I do not know if the there can be another stay of execution. Jonah did not go with an ultimatum to the people of Nineveh. "Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” This was the prophets call. And they were gripped with the fear of God.
"So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.” Praise His name!”
SET THE TRUMPET TO THY MOUTH
In 1985 David Wilkerson gave prophecies from the burden of God about his beloved country America, here is a excerpt from this book and is very timely: "America is going to be destroyed by fire! Sudden destruction is coming and few will escape. Unexpectedly, and in one hour, a hydrogen holocaust will engulf America -- and this nation will be no more. America has sinned against the greatest light. Other nations are just as sinful, but none are as flooded with gospel light as ours. God is going to judge America for its violence, its crimes, its backsliding, its murdering of millions of babies, its flaunting of homosexuality and sadomasochism, its corruption, its drunkenness and drug abuse, its form of godliness without power, its lukewarmness toward Christ, its rampant divorce and adultery, its lewd pornography, its child molestations, its cheatings, its robbings, its dirty movies, and its occult practices. In one hour it will all be over. To the natural mind it is insanity to come against a prosperous, powerful nation and cry out, 'It's all over! Judgment is at the door! Our days are numbered!' The Church is asleep, the congregations are at ease, and the shepherds slumber. How they will scoff and laugh at this message. Theologians will reject it because they can't fit it into their doctrine. The pillow prophets of peace and prosperity will publicly denounce it. I no longer care. God has made my face like flint and put steel in my backbone. I am blowing the Lord's trumpet with all my might. Let the whole world and all the church call me crazy, but I must blow the trumpet and awaken God's people. Believe it or not, America is about to be shaken and set aside by swift and horrible judgments. Many other praying believers who have been shut in with God are hearing the very same message - 'Judgment is at the door! Prepare, awaken!'"
And dare I say many are "hearing the same message again!” to make it clear never should we seek or desire the judgement of God on another, but surely we should not refrain to speak of it as it comes. Surely now it is a time to "set the trumpet” to our mouths and warn Christians of the coming judgement. All the sins of America will not be swept under the carpet. May our prayer be "In wrath remember mercy.” Read this other excerpt of the book: "Soon, very soon, an economic nightmare will explode into reality. America is about to face a time of mass hysteria, as banks close and financial institutions crumble and our economy spins totally out of control. Gold and silver will lose their value. The chaos that is coming cannot be stopped by our government. The great holocaust follows an economic collapse in America. The enemy will make its move when we are weak and helpless. God did not keep the three Hebrew children from the fire - he delivered them in it. Christ went with them through the fire, and, whereas they came back to ruin, we will be translated to Glory.”
OUR ONLY HOPE
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He had chosen for His own inheritance." Leonard Ravenhill stated many years ago: "There is only one hope for America and that is that we have a Divine intervention in the nation.” Has this changed? Our only hope is God. The Scriptures say: blessed is that nation whose God is the Lord! Many nations acknowledge and mention God but which are the nations that have God as "Lord!” America must come back to a nation "under” God, this is the only safety and help there will be. The midnight hour is approaching will you prepare? May God give all His saints rest and comfort, but also earnestness and unction to pray for the coming times. Trim your lamps. Watch and pray. Trust and obey. Time is short!
GROSS ATHEISM
In saying there is no God, in wishing there were no God, and in living as if there were no God is a vile and terrible sin of the nation of America. Thomas brooks wrote this in the 1600’s after a great fire destroyed the city of London: "Atheism is a sin that has brought the greatest woes, miseries, destructions, and desolations imaginable upon the most flourishing kingdoms and most glorious cities in the world. Holy Mr. Greenham was accustomed to say that he feared rather atheism than Popery would be England's ruin. O sirs! were there none within the walls of London, who said in their hearts with David's atheistical fool, "There is no God!" Psalm 14:1. Caligula the emperor was such a one; and Claudius thought himself a god until the loud thunder affrighted him, and then he hid himself and cried, "Claudius is not a God!" Leo X., Hildebrand the magician, and Alexander VI., and Julius II. were all most wretched atheists, and thought that whatever was said of Christ, of heaven, of hell, of the day of judgment, and of the immortality of the soul””were but dreams, impostures, toys, and old wives' fables.”
"Augustine, speaking of atheists, says, "That albeit there are some who think, or would persuade themselves, that there is no God; yet the most vile and desperate wretch who ever lived would not say””there was no God." Seneca has a remarkable speech, "They lie," says he, "who say they perceive not there is a God; for although they affirm it to you in the daytime””yet by night they doubt of it. Further, I have heard of some who have denied that there was a God; yet never knew the man but, when he was sick, he would seek unto God for help; therefore they do but lie who say there is no God; they sin against the light of their own consciences; they who most studiously go about to deny God””yet cannot do it””but some check of conscience will fly in their faces! It will be hard to name an atheist either in the Holy Scripture, or in ecclesiastical histories, or in heathen writings, which came not to some fearful end; and therefore no wonder if Austin would not be an atheist for half an hour for the gain of a million of worlds, because he knew not but God might in that time make an end of him. I have been the longer upon this head, because atheist and atheism did never so abound in this land as it has done these last years, and that you may the clearer see who they are, who have brought that sad judgment of fire upon that once glorious city of London. Ah London, London! it was the gross atheism and the practical atheist who have turned you into a ruinous heap!”
Oh may we say today: "Ah America, America!” Come back to God.
