Hagiazō

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said:

[i]"Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.[/i]

From G40; to [i]make holy[/i], that is, (ceremonially) [i]purify[/i] or [i]consecrate[/i]; (mentally) to [i]venerate[/i]:
- hallow, be holy, sanctify.

Sisters, it strikes me so much so taken this way ... It is difficult to know where to make the breaks and actually went back and forth adjusting it, how to keep the context while drawing off the emphasis.

I just love the book of John so much ... To [i]hear[/i] Jesus [i]pray[/i] ... Oh! Incredible.

Guess I did not quite tie this tremendous word "[b]Hagiazō[/b]" to it's mooring, (which is [i]sanctify[/i]) more explicitly.

Even the sound of the word [i]hag-ee-ad'-zo[/i]
... hmmm, there is something past my grasp there. And maybe what really gripped more so, was the Lord stating;

[i]I sanctify Myself[/i]

Can't help draw back to these words that often come up on the radar;

[i]Permit it to be so for now[/i]

That is how I often hear it 'intuitively', more of a NKJV paraphrase from:

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, [i]Suffer it to be so now[/i]: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Mat 3:13-15 (KJV)

It's a musing that's all, ...

[i]for their sakes[/i] the inversion. Remarkable, incredible.

It so happens that recently a brother posted a question regarding the 30 pieces of silver that the Lord was betrayed for. I was trying to look up something I thought I had heard before about this and came across this passage from Leviticus

"And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons [i]shall be[/i] for the LORD by thy estimation. And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. And if it [i]be[/i] a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

- Leviticus chapter 27 verses 1-4(KJV)

[i]And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.[/i]

Brother, looking at Strong's concordance, I think this passage in Leviticus is talking about some sort of [i]vow of seperation[/i].

A female was to be estimated at 30 shekels.

Zechariah said "So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver."

And the Lord was offered for us, and the church is called His bride.

"And for their sakes
I sanctify Myself"

Could it be He was presenting Himself before the Father for this vow of seperation, [b]on our behalf[/b]?

And then we are seperated through Him, through the truth of what He has done?

Yes, our Lord Jesus consecrated Himself to
the plan and purpose God had chosen Him for.
What was the purpose?? To be made an offering
and a sacrifice well pleasing unto God!! When
God had given us all; He then gave Himself
to the cruel cross for our redemption !! ;-)
