in the USA if a book is over 50 years old it is public domain, there are small exceptions to this. ccel.org has all public domain writings that you could read and other sites.
Wow.
Wouldn't it be neat to have a Wikipedia-like setup where we could organize public domain teachings for transcribing to audio? Then a community of believers would work together to get all of the writing recorded to mp3?

Quality is key in this area. ccel.org has alot of mp3 readings but their quality is sub-par. Christianaudio.com has done a great job but they are a for-profit scenario.

It's not Christian-based (that I know of) but it does have quite a few Christian works on there and more could be started that are public domain since their goal is to record all books that are public domain.
