Educate in what?

sermonindex Dec 30, 2007

Can I ask for some input on this question? We hear much talk today around the world about education being so important. Some countries have the finest universities that prepare and educate our youth for service to society. What does the primary root of that service need to be? What book would be most beneficial to know and to educate our youth in? Why would anyone desire to eliminate that book from private or public education? Just a few questions I believe will give many answers, if ones heart is open and searching for the truth.

Hello moe_mac, I would like to respond to your questions, but I am not sure did I understand them right, so if not, please correct me.

I am not familiar with the term RRR, what is the meaning of it?

What book would be most beneficial to know and to educate our youth in?

What you mean by "our"? Do you mean american youth, all youth in all socities, or you mean we as disciples of Jesus?

I am asking this because you said:

We hear much talk today around the world about education being so important.

We can hear much things that are of importance for the world, and many of these things lead to eternal destruction.

Some countries have the finest universities that prepare and educate our youth for service to society. What does that primary root of that service need to be?

Seeing the things from today's perspective, I believe most of these finest universities are just preparing well trained and obedient servants of the new world order and good preparation of the coming of Antichrist. Especially the universities in the richest western countries like America and Europe. But they are devouring also the finest students from all over the world, for every kind of purposes to serve in the coming kingdom of the satan. The deception is very big, and it is among the Christians. They are selling their lives for money and so called success and prosper. Someone are cached that they are serving to the society for good, but now knowing that are just tools of the system of the wicked one.

We as christians must be very careful where we send our children to study and by whom we are allowing to be educated. The greatest education is in the family and nowhere else. We must very careful and keep our children not to be tools in the hands of the rotten system of the wicked one. It is so much dangerous and provoking. He will not easily let or kids down.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

We are in service and servants to the King of Kings. Not to the god and the kings of this world, which soon is preparing persecution for the children of light. Of course we will honor the authority and the laws, as soon as they start to contradict our obedience to the Eternal King.

Act 5:39 ...lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Eze 20:19 I am the LORD your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Mar 13:5 Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you.

We already have them! Ignorant in the Word, ignorant in logic, ignorant in courtesy...

Answering the original post... God has used both the ignorant and the educated. But I agree with Tears_of_Joy that much of our public education is preparation for the New World Order. There and have been all kinds of arguments pro and con for public schools. I went to public school, graduated from a public university did graduate work at one… but it was only the grace of God that kept me from absorbing their indoctrination… that was then, this is now. The agenda has drastically changed and the 3 R’s have lost their place and been replaced by the politically correct agenda.

We home school here, and others in our church do also. Their education in the 3 R’s is milesssss ahead of the public school, as well as their knowledge of history, including world history, their knowledge of geography, social skills and etc.

Paul was certainly educated but he said,
1 Corinthians 1:26 - 31 (NKJV) 26For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Both sides of the spectrum and great service and great influence for the Kingdom of Christ come to mind: D. L.. Moody who was so ignorant academically that he was greeted by “here, here” by the Oxford scholars at his first visit, but later many of them were converted, and from his revival came the Cambridge seven that included C.. T. Studd among others… then you have the NY lawyer, Charles G. Finney and his closing arguments and holy life for Christ.

It is amazing how God uses those who “seem” the most qualified for one area in the area in which they “seem” to be most unqualified. I am thinking of how God used Peter as the apostle to the Jews… ignorant and unlearned by their standards, and used Paul who was expert in all their customs instead to preach to the ignorant and unlearned (as far as scripture) Gentiles… “so that no FLESH should glory”.

If anyone depends in their own ability and education to reach the lost with the gospel they are spinning their wheels. Unless the Holy Spirit moves nothing ever happens.
Perhaps I should have written:
Why did we stop educating our children with a solid foundation and is permanent and eternal rather than hay or stubble but the amount of space allowed did not allow that in the title space.

I'm sorry if I bothered or confused you. You
are correct in your observation in my lack of education. I only have a GED diploma and received it 30 years later after dropping out and joining the military. Actually if you were to view my high school transcript you would wonder how I ever passed the GED test. I received a letter from Gov(at the time) Bill Clinton when I received the GED, that stated I had more academic ability than over 90 % high school graduates. I believe this statement would come closer to truth than anything else I have heard him say. Not a really a bragging statement for a 2 term governor of a state to make about his education program.
The reason I did not graduate I was in bootcamp preparing for Vietnam.

Through Christ I have overcome my lack of educatation in many areas. Winning a 2002 electied as Mayor of my small town. Going on in office to bring the town from a large loss of money in our water department to a substancial plus the following years, not by my power or my might but by HIS SPIRIT. Not by my works but HIS grace. My worldly education is no doubt is lacking but that which is eternal in me is not, which was just exactly the point I was trying to make on this thread and I thought just maybe it might set some liberals free. I have a very strong faith right.

I have observed your comments in the past. I just wonder what your other SI identity would be. I got some ideas. Anyone else? Could be someone just monkeying around!!!
God Bless.

This reminded of the story that brother Keith is sharing in the sermon The Word of God:

"Faith, cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." (Romans 10:17)

"Oh," D.L Moody said, " I’ll never pray to ask God to give me faith again. God told me where to get it! I’d read about six, seven verses of the bible," he says, "in a day. I meditated, but I was held on them, I didn’t go further. And now I just stopped everything. All my running around. All my preparation, everything. I just said, "No – this is what I need now. I don’t need anything else." "I read chapters. I laid down everything in life and I read chapters, and chapters, and chapters. Days, just reading, soaking. And from that time, God began to answer my prayers."

Ah, God took Moody. There was a movement of God across Chicago that had never been seen. Never been seen. He didn’t go "sheep stealing", he wouldn’t bypass a soul, Moody. And suddenly God was working. God took this man to Scotland. And the greatest revival in the history of Scotland came through a man who had a six-grade school level. Moody was taken there. The great John Knox was used, to turn Scotland away from Rome, and the heresies of the Roman Doctrine. But it was Moody, it was Moody that turned the nation to God and the greatest revival that has ever been seen. Do you know what Moody prayed when he stood in Scotland? Can you imagine a man praying this prayer? And God answering it?

He stood in the pulpit and said, "Oh, God! Bring this land back to Thyself, through me." He’s an American man! The first pulpit he stands in Scotland. Praying that prayer - wasn’t that presumptuous? Wasn’t that Presumptuous? Oh no! God swept down from heaven, and across that land from the moment Moody prayed that prayer, and the greatest revival came, that has ever been seen in Scotland. People turning to God across the land. Everywhere just seeking God. As Moody crossed the land, the whole world trembled. The whole world trembled, as they looked at what was happening in Scotland. A land seeking God! And here was the man, Moody.

He then went to Oxford and Cambridge you know. Can you imagine Oxford and Cambridge combining in the Great Hall to hear a man who had a six- grade school level? Ah, they laughed when they heard his American accent. The English didn’t quite like that; they thought it was murdering their accent. Murdering their language. There he stood with a big Bola hat. He wasn’t really the best dressed man on earth. He had this old, shabby type of jacket on. He’s like me – my wife goes through a terrible time to get me to have different clothes. Well, there he stood. Not exactly looking like a great orator – I mean the greatest orators of the world would come to speak to this people, the most privileged students on earth at Oxford and Cambridge in those days, the future leaders of the Empire, the British Empire! And there they sat, and as they heard this man they began to roar with laughter. The roars just came, and the dean, everyone screaming, "Stop this, this is outrageous!" They couldn’t stop laughing. Moody just prayed in his heart for God to come. He raised his voice above all the laughter.

As he stood up there after ten minutes, there was a stunned silence. After a few minutes more there was weeping. A few minutes later, the whole hall, thousands of them, on their faces, screaming – not just crying - screaming for mercy. Why did God use this man and not the great Spurgeon - the greatest preacher that ever lived? Spurgeon stood in there, and that never happened with Spurgeon. How does a man with a six-grade education level stand up? Oh you see, one reason. God answered his prayers because he found the source of faith. He stood in his old age, this godly Moody. In the end when the whole world would stagger. The unsaved, in their millions, knew the name Moody. Moody was the name known across the world as the greatest soul-winner alive.

In his old age, Moody said these words: "I attribute everything that God ever did through me, whether to a town, city or nation, to one reason. The faith that came into my heart as I began to soak myself in the Word of God, the source of hope."

Now tell me; how many times have you read through the Bible? Can I ask every one of you to answer God? If you read three chapters a day, in one year, you’re through the Bible once. Just three chapters. Now that would take you fifteen minutes and you have to go pretty slow to not read more. If you haven’t read through the Bible once, this means you didn’t give God three chapters, you didn’t give God fifteen minutes? You wonder why your life is worthless? You wonder why your prayers aren’t answered? You wonder why you have no faith?

Shame on you. I can think of no other word but shame on you.

Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
Act 4:14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
