Wow! What a blessing.

And there in lies the problem with most professing Christians who have made a mental decision one time when they walked an isle, and asked the Lord into their heart. God wasn't drawing, Godly sorrow never occured by God showing us our sin and the true wretchedness of ourselves. How can we be saved if we never really even understand what we were saved from. How can we be saved when their is no reflection of anything of Christ in our daily lives. Modern Christianity has shamelessly misused Perseverence of the Saints to have people think that one time they prayed a prayer and now they are saved. Soft preachers are a big part of the problem in this regard.
I remeber talking to my dad, who was a preacher, if I had ever been saved as a kid. The mere fact that I was asking ought of told me something, but I was lost. I remeber laying in bed at night praying to be saved, not because I wanted to give my life to the Lord, or I was being drawn, or God had shown me my sin, or anything of the sort; but soley just to have that covered because I didn't want to go to hell. There was nothing in me that wanted to change, because flesh can't create the desire in the first place. It wasn't unitl a few years ago that the Lord called me, and it was at a Chruch whose theology I don't even believe in. But I tell you it wouldn't have mattered if Donald Duck was preaching, when my time had come, a football team coudn't have kept me from the invitaion. It wasn't some 2 minute prayer , I wasn't even with the pastor or anybody, but for about 45 minutes on my face seeing myself for the first time, and crying out to God. This is not bragging or the way it has to be, just stating and example I always use with the youth when talking about conversion.
As many much wiser and more Godly have stated, in most meeting places, the truth is not preached, and the majority who fill the Church have never really been saved. It is so refreshing for me to hear men like Paul Washer preach the word in truth, my soul starves for it. I'm of the same boat when people ask why are you so pationate about the Gospel and the truth, and often I probably seem dumbfounded when asked, but it's hard for me to understand when we are really saved, how we can just sit idly by and not have a passion for Him. After all, he SAVED me too praise the Lord.
Amen. This is just what I needed to see tonight.
GLORY TO GOD!
AMEN
