I will be working at Lackland AFB in San Antonio during May, June, and July. I need a place to stay and a church to attend. Anyone in that area have any suggestions? It is much appreciated!

He isn't too far from San Antonio.

Hope something works out for you.

Still haven't found a place to live or fellowship yet, so here's another go.

There is a church not far from lackland called new life christian fellowship.
I think it is nondenominational.

We used to drive from corpus Christi to San Antonio on weekends just to attend new life.

Lasalle Vaughn is the pastor and he really loves people.

Of course after new life service there is Tom's Ribs BBQ outside the north loop.

I lived in San Antonio 8 years ago. I went to a church called "Northeast Bible Church" It's close to Garden Ridge which is on the other side of San Antonio. I basically grew up there. Last I heard the church got pretty big. I do remember a lot of Military people there. That's the best I can do for you.

Although it's true I don't live that far from San Antonio, I really don't know of too many churches I can publically vouch for on here. I am acquainted with Freddy Garcia's "Victory Outreach" - but they are more of a street ministry fellowship and do alot with reaching the homeless and drug addicts and prostitutes. They're basically a church with the "sleeves rolled up" and I've been to a few of their meetings; a sweet presence of the Lord was there. Mind you, their services generally consist of ex-junkies and gang members leaning into chairs and praying with tears to God. I also have an old Army buddy in San Antonio who attends a non-denominational community church somewhere in the Walzem area. I can try to get the address if you like; my friend Julio is also into street ministry and open-air evangelism, and he sometimes enters these forums. His username is "avessel"

Let me know if I can be of further assistance! May God bless and lead you in your search for the right fellowship according to His will for your life.

The children in the photo are native Guatemalans...I have no wife and no children. Just myself working at Lackland for 3 months then moving on to my next rotation. Don't care much where I live, as long as it's a place to sleep, eat, do laundry, close enough to get to Lackland at 6:45am.

I have a friend you might be able to stay with.

Fred and his wife Nina.

Great christians but have kind of a dry ,aqueous humor.
