Authoritatively Led: Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might, nor by power...

Devotional:[b]Zechariah 4:6:[/b]“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by MY spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” (From Christiananswers.net) “He is also known by the Persian name of Sheshbazzar (Ezra 1:8, 11). In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia , he led the first band of Jews, numbering 42,360 (Ezra 2:64), exclusive of a large number of servants, who returned from captivity at the close of the seventy years. In the second year after the Return, he erected an altar and laid the foundation of the temple on the ruins of that which had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar (3:8-13; ch. 4-6). All through the work
he occupied a prominent place, inasmuch as he was a descendant of the royal line
of David.”

Zerubbabel led the first Jews coming back from captivity. GOD told him that the rebuilding of the temple, the protection of the Jews, all…..would not be by any other power nor in their own might…but by the SPIRIT of GOD! The Jews were chained physically in bondage until GOD broke their chains and returned them to the land.
How easy it is for us to get led into captivity by one little hook, ball and chain…at a time! When HE sees our broken hearts and contrite spirits, then HE will not despise nor delay our rescue. Surely we must come through trials and tribulations to be molded into HIS image but with a whole hearted release of our will…to choose HIS…we will be blessed! Amen and amen!

When one minor hook grasps our nature,
it is barely observed or addressed.
Insignificant and near invisibly cast,
yet the devil grasps tightly our flesh.

Whilst chained by minutia – the smallest of things
still we blindly proceed as though – free –
for no notice of hindrance nor slowing…appears.
As such, “pending doom”…few believe.

But faster than thought, we are bound beyond hope…
as we wrestle against Hell’s constraints!
Reacting with human responses – so weakly,
we then cannot stand nor run straight!

However! Our JESUS did not birth our souls
to rely on this flesh for it’s rescue!
Nay! Rather! HIS pow’r destroys Evil’s clasps
and restores each whilst stating, “I bless you!”

Did you ever read where the two hundred and twenty Nethinims, whom David taken captive and appointed for the service the priests of the Levites, to fetch wood and water for the temple started posing as priest. Evidently they had started wearing priest clothing and had began performing priestly function because they were selected to accompany the children back to their rightful land.

The false priest were outed when on the way to build the temple the party stopped and the children of Israel sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but the false priest and their false offspring were not found.

Therefore they were put out of the priesthood as polluted, and there was not a priest choosen of God among them but Nethinims captured by David and their lives spared and given as slaves to the priest who served the Levites.

The false priest were impersonating priest. The name Priest, in the Bible first occurs as applied to Melchizedek.

The children of God could not eat until there went and got real Priest from Jerusalem that stood up a priest with revelation and with truth..

This same story is repeated again and again until the poor little children of God have about stopped eating all together!

Its enough to make a man want to pick up a jawbone and set in on them, or at least fashion a whip and start flailing them out of the pulpits.
