hell

Hello, I had an interesting discussion about hell a while ago.

the discussion was about:
- is hell, the hell as how we see it (eternal hellfire, pain etc)?
- is there a hell?
- is hell eternal (as in the sence of forever, always, never no way out)

The person I talked to was convinced that there was no hell because the bible refers it as gehenna (place near Jeruzalem), and everlasting (as the coming century), punishment (as correction) when we look clearer at the scriptures at the meanings and contexts of the words.

How do you guys think about this? Please a clear explanation from scripture (greek/context etc.)

I think it's a real interesting topic to discuss about.

Hell is a topic I try to avoid. Excuse the pun.

gehenna is taking up more and more of the world to the point it requiring the enslavement of both parents and sacrificing their children to get more stuff to take it home and turn in into rubbish to keep it full.

I hope you can understand what I said. I don’t speak Greek.

Is heaven eternal? If it is, then why not hell?

If heaven isn't eternal, then hell isn't either.

They are either both eternal, or they are not.

Are you referring to the new heaven or the one that exists right now?
