Jesus Still Lead On

L

All of life has its natural cycles; the cycles of summer and winter and spring and fall; the cycles of birth and death; the cycles of rich and poor, even to the orbit the earth and moon and stars.

Yet, here we are and often we think that no one has ever been where we are spiritually, emotionally; or any other way for that matter. Yet the wisest man in history said there was nothing new under the sun. Sure, modern trappings have excelerated beyond most understanding; and we can do things now that are incomprehesible even as far as 50 years ago for the majority. How amazing that I could write this a perhaps someone around the world could read it within a matter of minutes!

To Daniel it was spoken: "many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased." and how true that seems to be in this day. Yet.... our hearts are still the same hearts that humanity has struggled with down through the ages; our sins (though some may vary) are still the same sins that mankind has been in bodange to since Adam and Eve.

Yet, those of you who have your eyes opened by the Spirit of God, can not recognize that there is something stirring? Urgency, end of time, impending judgement, "the end of all things", harvest, call it what you like, the fact is: that every day, every minute, the end of all things happens to someone. If you tell someone in some areas of the world today that soon there will be famines and pestilence and wars and famines... they will know what you mean as they experience it right now!

Yes, we should ALL be fervently seeking God, as the time is now! It is right now that humanity is hanging in the balance; could things get "worse", of course they can, and if we are overwhelmed by the foot soldiers what will we do when the horsemen arrive? Sorrows are aplenty all around, heartaches on every hand, atrocities abound, the length of time it took you to sign on SI and search the new forum messages many people have gone on into eternity. People all around you have disease, heartbreaking family issues, some may become homeless, some are hungry, MANY are lonely and sick and tired of being sick and tired. Hopelessness abounds in the unsaved, their hearts and minds are captivated by what they do not even know...there are even many Christians who wrestle with hopelessness as they are being tested in their faith and found wanting.

BUT Blessed, Blessed is he that is faithful to the end, that have the patience of Christ, that endeavor to learn of the meek and lowly Christ, that repent and overcome, and wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Though they stumble they will not be utterly cast down, though they tremble upon the rock, the Rock is immovable!

Jesus Still Lead On
written by Adam Drese in 1698

Jesus still lead on, Till our rest be won, And, although the way be cheerless, We will follow, calm and fearless; Guide us by Thy hand to our Fatherland.

If the way be drear, if the foe be near, Let not faithfess fears o'ertake us, let not faith and hope forsake us; For, through many a woe, To our home we go.

When we seek relief From a long-felt grief, When oppressed by new temptations, Lord, increase and perfect patience; Show us that bright shore Where we weep no more.

Jesus, still lead on, Till our rest be won; Heav'nly leader, still direct us, Still support, console, protect us, Till we safely stand In our Fatherland.

Amen
