i read how baptism was not required for salvation in the old testament and how scripture in the new testament points alot to not being symbolic. meaning that baptism is required for salvation now but back then it wasnt i guess? can someone show scripture to show how the old testament required baptism for salvation

Here in this verse we can see that baptisms is in the plural.Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.
You are speaking of covenants. The Old Testament
was a covenant of law which required obedience
to the law. The New testament is a covenant of
grace through the merits of the sacrifice of
