Native American Indian Ministers

Does anybody know any Native American Indian ministers? Why doesn't this site have any? I also have a question. Should Native American music and clothing be included in church services? Should they be allowed to have pow wows and indian dances as well in the services?

Abraham was called out of paganism. The Old Testament makes a clear distinction between the paganism of the nations surrounding them and the holiness to which Israel was called. Israel was condemned for trying to mix its God-given worship with the idolatry of its neighbors.I don't believe that white man's ways should be imposed upon Native Americans, however I do believe that the pagan elements of a culture must be abandoned if one is to come to Christ. There are many new movements within the church that view dance as a form of worship, while there still remain more conservative groups who disapprove of any form of dance altogether. I think these kinds of things should be left up to personal conviction.I've found a few Christian Native American sites and would like to share them here.http://www.nativealliance.org/This is Craig Smith's site. He wrote a really good book called White Man's Gospel. Many Native Americans still believe that Christianity is a white man's religion, but Craig points out in his book that Jesus was born into a minority group, a tribal group, and one of the smallest people groups on earth. He identifies many similarities between Jewish people and Native Americans to help bridge some much misunderstood cultural ideas that have been around for a long time. This is an excellent book!Craig has also written a book on guidelines for worship within Native American churches within his denomination. Some other sites of interest include:http://www.eagleswingsministry.com/Eagle's Wings Ministry is a ministry of Native American believers reaching Native Americans and others with the good news of Jesus Christ through native culture.http://www.nambnativeministries.org/A ministry of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Israel was condemned for trying to mix its God-given worship with the idolatry of its neighbors.Well it's good to see we finally agree on something huh? Anybody else wanna say anything? There are many in the A/G's and other denominations that believe this is right. I personally don't. I happen to be a Native American Indian and was looking for some insight to what non-Natives had to say. And besides, the way I see it is that there's really nothing "white" about Christianity except the pages of the Holy Bible.Dean

I'm not sure what it is we're agreeing on. And I'm not sure what "this" is. And there are some who claim it's been proven that the tribe of Judah originated in west Africa. If this is true, then that would make Jesus decended from black people. So no, it's certainly not a white man's religion. Read the book sometime. It's good stuff!
