Hello, its been a while..update..just checking in.

sermonindex Mar 5, 2008

Haven't been on the boards lately, just wanted to see how everyone is doing?

We think we may have found a Church!! :-D It is refreshing to go into this Church and see the caliber of preachers they read in the bookstore...well its not exactly a book store, more of a book case! To me its a testimony to the heart and desire of the Church to see them actually have a class that is going through the book called "Mortification of Sin" By John Owen. It is a far cry from my last church...I think we had a book from Bill Hybels or Rick Warrens church! PTL

Another cool thing is to see that they do not take an offering, not that I am opposed at all in giving, but I think they modeled themselves from George Mueller. They have contribution box located in the back! To me it really shows their trust and faith in solely on the Lords leading.

Anyways just wanted to say Hi,I often think of many of you and confess that I haven't been praying as I should have. I have been encouraged and rebuked by a few of you and I appreciate those who where full of mercy and grace in their words.

Things are moving along not where I would hope I would be, but still moving along. I have been really committed to seek calvary, I found myself wanting so much to study the bible, I was more concerned about gaining knowledge so I could be something, instead of reading and studying to know Christ! I thought the other day, that striving to know more is not neccesarrily bad, but motives should be to know Jesus Christ..."No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, HE HAS MADE HIM KNOWN." It is quite a balance to listen to the great preachers and read some of the post to try to compare yourself to others and strive to ATTAIN something. But it all comes down to simply knowing Him, reading His Word just to simple know Him, and let HIM change me! It was a hard truth, honestly did not like it, but praying for His leading and guidance.
" Come to me , all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

wonderful great promise, I plan on meditating on this text, I encourage everyone to also do the same.

Blessing

Hi reformer...

This is great news. We are still praying for you, brother! You shared Matthew 11:28-30 -- what a wonderful promise!!! This verse is a personal favorite, because it is the verse that "led" me to the Lord!

:-)

Great to hear from you, brother. Praise God for His working in your life! It's good to hear that He has directed ya'll to a church. I pray that goes well.

Focus on Christ!

Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Good to hear you have found a Church, Wonderful to hear God answering prayer. what riches are in a local Church. To often we wander from Church to Church looking for something better. I agree there are some we should leave. But to find a perfect one, it wil never happen. But when one does find the Church God leads them to. What a day of joy and rejoying. indeed the local is a wonderful place of family and care, or it should be. Great lesson I have learn in the last few months, learning why I go to Church. learning what our heart should be.ALthough I have always loved Church, and would never miss. God brakes in and goes deep, thank be to God in those times. Really we need others. Time is short. A heart of pride pity thinking others are to serve and do for us. what will this Church do for me. What will I get from it every week? How will these people love them reach care for me. In most part its about us. And not about serving loveing and giving to the Church to those brothers and sisters.

May God give you a heart to serve and love those people. May God brake your heart for them. May God open doors and frienship and trust and fellowship and grows you and your family.
To behold the glory. It is great to hear of seeking, and the richness of the text of men, But there is no greater place then at his feet. The cross, the richness of his grace, The Cross the wonderful cross that my King dead on for me. The cross The Cross. May I go to the cross and die. To cross I go. The cross. The Cross. Don't these word make us cry. The cross, is so rich, so amazing. It has taken me by storm. For it has saved me.

Thank God is he is at work in me. Grace is my cry more grace.
In prayer for you and your family.
DOn't pity in where you are not, only let burn a greater desire to seek him harder and more. But let it not be effort by grace and for his glory.

In Christ

God knew your heart, brother, and has brought you through to a better place. These words challenged me. Thank you.

Good to hear about the church, too. Amazing how God has His people tucked away here and there, seeking one another out, and finding ways to walk with Him, together. Amen.

Often the trouble ... and the regret. I share this brother. Have your read any of LORD, TEACH US To Pray By ALEXANDER WHYTE ? I cannot speak more to it if I tried.
