It's sad to read so many disgusting statements concerning Pastor Swaggart.The sins each Pharisee continues to point out was comitted over a DECADE ago; and yet people still persist in defaming this Saint?To those who have defamed and maligned Swaggart's Ministry and walk with Christ...let me ask YOU:Do you gossip?Do you lie?Do you lust?Do you sin at all?The obvisous answer is yes.Why point out a man's fault that GOD has forgiven and put away?To do such is blasphemous to Calvary and not to Swaggart; you denigrate and slander the Atoning Blood every single time you attack anyone who has repented, and this man, as is proven by YEARS of NOT practicing this sin, has repented.I read these statements and the Word of the Lord rings loudly in my ears: "Withdraw from these immoral and unfaithful Watchmen."Swaggart certainly isn't prideful; at least he doesn't appear to be.Swaggart isn't an adulterer or a fornicator; he certainly has shown true repentance.Swaggart is a Man of God.Period.To state otherwise when you have no PRESENT evidence, but only a lack of true Holiness yourselves in damning a Godly man, then you are wose than a reprobate and worthy of disfellowship.Period.As for the AOG and Sawaggart's refusal to accept their discipline:Show me ONE vberse in Scripture that calls for such measures to be taken for ANY Believer, let alone a Pastor.God gives certain requirements TO BE ordained into Ministry, yet as it pertains to one IN Ministry who has fallen....show me the verse that states that he/she is to be punished for a whole year for as sin that Christ has washed clean.And concerning Wilkerson coming against Swaggart.,....Wilkerson also presently blasts the AOG and several other denominations on certain points; why defend the AOG and at the same time speak highly of a man (Wilkerson) who blasts them? That's called being a hypocrite and a false accuser.:)Straight talk?Yes.You speak evil of those men who you don't even see on a daily basis and you have no problem speaking dirt on them.....So take what you give anmd repent and turn to Jeuss Christ for remission of your sins.Gossipers who malihn those who truly walk with God are certainly not Born Again; how can a liar be saved?Daniel.

First off, I have no idea why you are so mad and what you are talking about.Second, Did you join this forum just to complain, judge, and bring descension among your brethren? What kind of heart is that for your brother's and sisters in the Lord? Gossipers who malihn those who truly walk with God are certainly not Born Again; how can a liar be saved?Who are you to say something like this? Are you God? Only God knows the condition of men's hearts. Christians are saved by God's grace. They aren't perfect. How could you even say that if a Christian lies or sins, they are not Born Again? You deny the power of God's love, mercy, and grace to cover those sins. I would motivate you to check the condition of your own heart before you come on here and start judging your bother's and sisters. Yes, you are judging them. Judging is condeming to hell. We are not called to judge. That is God's job. But we are called to be fruit inspectors. We need to look at peoples lives and see where they are at. How else would we be able to tell a wolf from a sheep? That is not judging. People use that word so freely now. Learn it's meaning.I read these statements and the Word of the Lord rings loudly in my ears: "Withdraw from these immoral and unfaithful Watchmen."This is a forum and you are entitled your own opinion and a voice. But if that's what the Lord is telling you, then I pray all the best for you. I hope you find a good, moral, faithful fellowship elsewhere.

In my opinion, Swaggert should have resigned from his pastorate, as he lost his status as being "above reproach" as 1 Tim 3 requires. Instead, he decided to stay in it, and thus, demonstrating his pride. Correct me if I am wrong though regarding this fact.

When I first became a Christian in the 80's, I used to watch JS every Sunday morning and tape all of his sermons and watch them over and over again! I thought he had stepped down until I saw him in cable tv, preaching. While he still had the same "emotion" and passion in his preaching, it was not the same as years ago. Being in a position that any pastor/preacher is a high one that I tremble to think that I could stand in their shoes. When I think of a preacher/pastor, I think of the great men of God of years past, like Wesley, Moody, John Piper, etc. there are not too many around that I think should be on TV like he used to be. Again, we are fruit insepctors. Let's just examine the fruit of men's lives today...Grace,Doug

I have decided to lock this thread, its advised that we not stir up conversation that will raise disension and cause outward conflict. I always remind myself when I am writing in the forums that I am talking to live people and that I should word my conversation as if I were speaking it out loud to the other parties involved. This helps first get my tone and attitude across better in the discussion forum and secondly lowers the chances of people confusing my intentions in writing the post. I think people on both parties in this thread are guilty of speaking against anothers character and thats something we try not to do at SI. I hope everyone involved in this conversation can read over the thread and see how they came across. Let us build each other up into Christ into a pefect man. If anyone has dissagrements with my action taken please email me or IM me.
