how do I go about this? how do I bind the strong man? shall I first find out who he is? how do I take back what he has stolen?

Christ is the Man who binds the strong man. If you are willing for Him to enter the house and bind him for you, it's a simple matter of invitation, and He will come and do it.how do I go about this?
If you can trust the Lord to bind the strong man whose influence needs to be broken,shall I first find out who he is?

The strong man may well struggle, but you have to believe he has no power [u]because you believe Jesus' power IS greater[b]do not move off that ground

For, to all intents and purposes, the part of your life which is being controlled by a 'strong man', needs to come under the control of Christ (not more of your own control. We have all shown ourselves incapable of controlling every part of our lives in a way which pleases Him (2 Cor 10:4, 5) and helping us in this way is His bread and butter (meat).) and He got [u]His
When you invite Him to bind the strong man, you must have no opinion (because you are dead in Christ), about how that may affect you. Your heart must be set on gaining liberty, and not be distracted by the inconveniences or losses created by the escape journey. These have to be left behind [i]with all your heart

As He is already seated at the right hand of the Father, when you ask Him to come and bind the strong man, you should move directly (in your thinking), to assume He has done it; correlated with Heb 10:14, which is the foundational spiritual truth by which we receive what we ask from God, since pentecost.

EDIT: Another way of looking at the same issues, is through the picture of Jesus cleansing the temple. He is already in there (your life), and He is trying to chuck out everything which He finds inconsistent with His glory being found there, in His house of prayer. All the pictures in scripture are utterly true, and amazingly accessible to the hearts and minds of men seeking God.

can you recommend any sermons on this subject?
I believe I have got a picture, or reminded of a picture from ma sermon, it is like a stearing wheel on a big boat, the boat has a lot of power, but it can be set in a direction only with one finger. Do you know of any sermons like that?

Ole, if you are born again you have 3 enemies. The world,the flesh,and the devil.
The word also says a demon can be kicked out and return with his buddies and set up shop again.
It is imperative that you have a battle plan. Victory is not an option. Victory is imperative.
Enhance your walk with the Lord through reading the word,worship and prayer.
Take holy communion in your home or car or wherever. Turn off and tune out secular everything and if you can fast then do it.
Victory belongs to you and wholeness of spirit soul and body are yours. You are Gods temple and his property.
Your part is to WALK free. Not just get delivered but to WALK free.
How bad do you want freedom? That is your measure of fullness of your walk.
The gospel is radical and the devil is radical to frustrate you and me.
A radical problem requires a radical solution.
I went through deliverance in 1996 and it was a demon hindering. It was awesome to get free of that sorry thing.
After deliverance they handed me a paper. It was my "never again" list.
Let God invade you like never before. Seek hard after him. Be prepared for opposition and develop you own battle cry. Get tenacious in your seeking and remember the enemy will try to stop you but he CANNOT.
Remember God wins every time and the enemy ALWAYS looses.
Tell that hindering spirit "you must submit" Jesus is against you and he lives in me.
Apply the blood of Jesus to your whole being and your mind.

Ole, the battle is in our minds. The battle has already been won. The strong man was defeated at the Cross and cannot have access to the believer unless we give a mind to him.
1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
What are we to know? "That the Son of God is come, and have given us understanding,"
Know, "That we may know Him that is true"
Know, "That we are in Him that is true"
Know, "This is the true God and eternal life"
If Christ is now our Spirit, then the spirit of the strong man can do nothing as long as our mind is kept on the only True Strong man from God, which is "Christ in you the Hope of Glory".
The battle is in our mind. Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
What are we to know? Our, "eyes of your understanding being enlightened;", "Know the hope of His calling", Know, "the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." In who?
Do we have the mind of Christ? Is He in you?
John 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
1Cr 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
In having the mind of Christ, unless we give a mind to the strong man, who do you think if the strong man and Christ do battle will win?
Of course Christ would and has already won our freedom and protection from the strong man at the Cross.
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Don't believe anything except the strong man was destroyed for the believer.
1Cr 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
Galatians 2:17-20 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. Is it not sin to allow the strong man to become our attention, thus taking the things Jesus destroyed and give them power again.
Know that you have eternal life and that life is in Christ and no one can come against you unless you give a mind to that one.
1 John 5:18-20 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. There is that word again, "know".
Have you been saved, are you being saved and will you be saved?
2Cr 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver [us];
Of course, it is Christ Jesus that is in you.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It is not the will of God that the strong man be allowed back into the house, you are the house and the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT, how can he have access unless we give it to him.
So, does the strong man have any power over you?
The answer is a resounding NO. Only if we give him power or if God allows him access to keep us from being puffed up because of the great revelation of the Christ in you the Hope of Glory.
As with Paul's thorn in the flesh.
How are we kept in perfect peace? In the Mind.
Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
2Cr 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

The comparing of Christ's miracles, particularly this of casting out devils, with his doctrine, and the design and tendency of his holy religion, evidenced that he was so far from being in league with Satan, that he was at open enmity and hostility against him (v. 29); How can one enter into a strong man's house, and plunder his goods, and carry them away, except he first bind the strong man? And then he may do what he pleases with his goods. The world, that sat in darkness, and lay in wickedness, was in Satan's possession, and under his power, as a house in the possession and under the power of a strong man; so is every unregenerate soul; there Satan resides, there he rules. Now,
(1.) The design of Christ's gospel was to spoil the devil's house, which, as a strong man, he kept in the world; to turn the people from darkness to light, from sin to holiness, from this world to a better, from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18); to alter the property of souls.
(2.) Pursuant to this design, he bound the strong man, when he cast out unclean spirits by his word: thus he wrested the sword out of the devil's hand, that he might wrest the sceptre out of it. The doctrine of Christ teaches us how to construe his miracles, and when he showed how easily and effectually he could cast the devil out of people's bodies, he encouraged all believers to hope that, whatever power Satan might usurp and exercise in the souls of men, Christ by his grace would break it: he will spoil him, for it appears that he can bind him. When nations were turned from the service of idols to serve the living God, when some of the worst of sinners were sanctified and justified, and became the best of saints, then Christ spoiled the devil's house, and will spoil it more and more.
4. It is here intimated, that this holy war, which Christ was carrying on with vigour against the devil and his kingdom, was such as would not admit of a neutrality (v. 30), He that is not with me is against me. In the little differences that may arise between the disciples of Christ among themselves, we are taught to lessen the matters in variance, and to seek peace, by accounting those who are not against us, to be with us (Luke 9:50); but in the great quarrel between Christ and the devil, no peace is to be sought, nor any such favourable construction to be made of any indifference in the matter; he that is not hearty for Christ, will be reckoned with as really against him: he that is cold in the cause, is looked upon as an enemy. When the dispute is between God and Baal, there is no halting between two (1 Kings 18:21), there is no trimming between Christ and Belial; for the kingdom of Christ, as it is eternally opposite to, so it will be eternally victorious over, the devil's kingdom; and therefore in this cause there is no sitting still with Gilead beyond Jordan, or Asher on the sea-shore, (Judg 4:16-17), we must be entirely, faithfully, and immovably, on Christ's side; it is the right side, and will at last be the rising side. Mar 3:22-30
I. Here is, The impudent impious brand which the scribes fastened upon Christ's casting out devils, that they might evade and invalidate the conviction of it, and have a poor excuse for not yielding to it. These scribes came down from Jerusalem, Mar_3:22. It should seem they came this long journey on purpose to hinder the progress of the doctrine of Christ; such pains did they take to do mischief; and, coming from Jerusalem, where were the most polite and learned scribes, and where they had opportunity of consulting together against the Lord and his Anointed, they were in the greater capacity to do mischief; the reputation of scribes from Jerusalem would have an influence not only upon the country people, but upon the country scribes; they had never thought of this base suggestion concerning Christ's miracles till the scribes from Jerusalem put it into their heads. They could not deny but that he cast out devils, which plainly bespoke him sent of God; but they insinuated that he had Beelzebub on his side, was in league with him, and by the prince of the devils cast out devils. There is a trick in the case; Satan is not cast out, he only goes out by consent. There was nothing in the manner of Christ's casting out devils, that gave any cause to suspect this; he did it as one having authority; but so they will have it, who resolve not to believe him.
II. The rational answer which Christ gave to this objection, demonstrating the absurdity of it.
1. Satan is so subtle, that he will never voluntarily quit his possession; If Satan cast out Satan, his kingdom is divided against itself, and it cannot stand, Mar_3:23-26. He called them to him, as one desirous they should be convinced; he treated them with all the freedom, friendliness, and familiarity that could be; he vouchsafed to reason the case with them, that every mouth may be stopped. It was plain that the doctrine of Christ made war upon the devil's kingdom, and had a direct tendency to break his power, and crush his interest in the souls of men; and it was as plain that the casting of him out of the bodies of people confirmed that doctrine, and gave it the setting on; and therefore it cannot be imagined that he should come into such a design; every one knows that Satan is no fool, nor will act so directly against his own interest.
2. Christ is so wise, that, being engaged in war with him, he will attack his forces wherever he meets them, whether in the bodies or souls of people, Mar_3:27. It is plain, Christ's design is to enter into the strong man's house, to take possession of the interest he has in the world, and to spoil his goods, and convert them to his own service; and therefore it is natural to suppose that he will thus bind the strong man, will forbid him to speak when he would, and to stay where he would, and thus show that he has gained a victory over him.
III. The awful warning Christ gave them to take heed how they spoke such dangerous words as these; however they might make light of them, as only conjectures, and the language of free-thinking, if they persisted in it, it would be of fatal consequence to them; it would be found a sin against the last remedy, and consequently unpardonable; for what could be imagined possible to bring them to repentance for their sin in blaspheming Christ, who would set aside such a strong conviction with such a weak evasion? It is true, the gospel promiseth, because Christ hath purchased, forgiveness for the greatest sins and sinners, Mar_3:28. Many of those who reviled Christ on the cross (which was a blaspheming of the Son of man, aggravated to the highest degree), found mercy, and Christ himself prayed, Father, forgive them; but this was blaspheming the Holy Ghost, for it was by the Holy Spirit that he cast out devils, and they said, It was by the unclean spirit, Mar_3:30. By this method they would outface the conviction of all the gifts of the Holy Ghost after Christ's ascension, and defeat them all, after which there remained no more proof, and therefore they should never have forgiveness, but were liable to eternal damnation. They were in imminent danger of that everlasting punishment, from which there was no redemption, and in which there was no intermission, no remission.

except he first bind the strong man, and then he will spoil his house: by the "strong man", is meant the devil, see Isa_49:24 who is powerful and mighty, as appears from his nature, being an angel, though a fallen one, excelling in strength human creatures; from his names, such as the roaring lion, the great red dragon, leviathan, &c. from the extent of his dominion, here called "his house"; which reaches to the whole posse of devils, and world of men; whence he is called the prince of the power of the air, and the prince of this world, and the god of it; and from his works and actions, in and over the bodies and estates of men, by divine permission; which might be exemplified in the case of Job, and the demoniacs in the time of Christ; and in and over the souls of men, not only over wicked men, but men under a show of religion, as antichrist and his followers; yea, saints themselves, and even over Adam in a state of innocence; but Christ is stronger than he, and attacked him, and dispossessed him of the bodies of men; and restraining him from doing them any hurt, enters into the souls of men, dethrone him, and leads him captive, who led others; and keeps him from doing them any damage; as he will in the latter day "bind" him and shut him up in prison a thousand years; and also "spoils his goods", or "vessels", and "his house"; the palace of Satan, by taking bodies and souls out of his possession; by awakening the conscience, enlightening the mind, working upon the affections, subduing the will, and implanting principles of grace and holiness in the heart; and so making it a fit habitation for God, which spoils it for the devil: in all which, Satan can never be thought to have any hand; and therefore the suggestion that Christ casts out devils by his assistance, even out of the bodies of men, has no show of reason in it.
