I have been hanging around on this site for a while now, and just decided a couple of days ago to register and introduce myself.
I am in Southern Cal. Have been a believer for over 20 years, but during the last 10 years have learned--and am learning what it is to put Jesus first :)
To God be the Glory!

I wanted to share this devotion. I know I've seen it before, years ago, as many of you may have. But, this was encouraging to me in the midst of some hard times, so I'd like to share it and say "thanks" for this site and the blessings and encouragement I have already ewxperienced.
"I asked for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for,
but everything that I hoped for.
Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered;
I among all men, most richly blessed."
