The Gospel is ?

The gospel is God drawing us near the cross,
revealing to us His righteousness, His salvation,
His truth, and His Son; and displaying to us the riches
of His grace, the depths of His divine love, and
the power of His resurrection!!

This is the Gospel Jesus Christ gave Paul Himself, both to Paul himself and by Jesus Christ Himself, to fulfill the Word of God in This Dispensation.

You cannot mix Grace and works, even if everybody thinks that is what James is saying, which he must say if he is the head of the same Church in Jerusalem Paul had problems with all his ministry.
If James is to be believed then these works are by the Faith of Jesus Christ that is in us. This is the Faith that we will show by our works.

We have works, but they are His, which worketh in us mightily.

Ephesians 2:7-9 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

but we can say have you no works, are the grace you have worthless.

We see many extremes, the word says work out your salvation with fear and trembling. This would be unnecessary if there where no need for it.

The Word says we must live a Holy life, The Word says we must walk as Jesus walked on earth.

This is the proof of that we have received the grace, is just that. That we have works.

Faith without work is dead. Worthless.

Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so [b]walk[/b] ye in him:

Eph 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles [b]walk[/b], in the vanity of their mind,

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship,[b] created in Christ Jesus unto good works[/b], which God hath before ordained that we should [b]walk[/b] in them.

Gal 5:25 [b]If[/b] we live in the Spirit, let us also [b]walk[/b] in the Spirit.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who [b]walk not[/b] after the flesh, [b]but after the Spirit.[/b]

You see, there are things we must do, the word warn us that God killed Israel and if we are not carefull he will do so to us also.

We are justified before God on account of faith alone, given to us in Christ according to unmerited grace, purchased by His atonement.

This gracious faith always produces works which justify our faith before men and assure ourselves that we are abiding in the vine of Christ.

Living faith works.
Dead faith does not.

Men are justified before God by living faith, not by the works which it produces.

It is God who works in us both to WILL and to DO according to His good pleasure. We know we are saved because He is working these things in us.

I read somewhere a very interesting article how the anabaptist, the old ones did not agree on the five solas,They did on four of them and not by faith alone and how they looked upon that as a work.

I cant find it now typically, but it was a real interesting article and worthy to read, ill post it if i find it, and if anyone knows what i am talking about i am grateful for help .

But the Works must be of the Faith of Jesus Christ or the works are sin and we are dead in our own works and we don't have Christ in us.

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

1Jo 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

It is in His works in us that we labor and work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

just thought I'd mention I created a website called "What Is The Gospel" last year.

It looks at the Gospel used in evangelism today and compares that with what Peter and Paul preached.

How do we establish the Law? Through Faith of the Christ that is in us.

We don't establish but He does in us by Faith.

Jhn 5:31 If I (Phillip) bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

We establish the Law by the Law Keeper Himself that is in us.

Rom 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Rom 3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

It is our Faith that establishes the Law, not our works. That faith not of yourselves but it is the Gift of God.

That it is God making sin exceedingly sinful by the Law.

In Christ we are no longer made exceedingly sinful, for we are in no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 7:1-11 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. But Now we have life in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 5:1-5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

If you retest in the Law the Law will kill you, salvation is by Grace through Faith of Jesus Christ the Son of God, which is life and as "He is in this world so are we.

that is "christian" philosophy. It is the act of sinning that makes us a sinner, and our natural heritage. The wages of sin is still death, there are no exceptions for someone that calls themselves a Christian, but acts as if they were not. You are what you practise , not what you say you are or will do. If you sin you are under the law. It's the act of sinning that places us under the law, at once. If you sin, and excuse your sin with the thought you are under Christ by degree, or by association, automatically and nevertheless, you are trying to cheat yourself and make it easier for you not look for repentance. That repentance from sin however brings you back "in Christ". It's not automatic "because you repented once for all" already. That thought is part of the anti christ religion that prevents you from stop sinning while assuring you "are already saved".

Read the clear words of the Bible as contained in the post by Strider100. That's the actual truth right there, without the humanistic spins and assumptions.

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Why is He faithful and Just?

1Jo 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Who's Seed cannot sin? Who's Seed remains in us?

1Jo 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

1Jo 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Who is born of God?

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

1Jo 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

That a man can commit sin is truth, that a man can commit the sin that separated him from God in the first place is a lie of the Devil.

We being born from above cannot sin ever again the sin that separated all mankind from God, that is the Cross. We can sin sins of the flesh, and we have an Advocate with the Father and If we confess our sins God is faithful and just to what?

If we don't confess our flesh sins God will discipline His own Children and we will come to repentance, If He does not chasten those that have sinned in the flesh, they are none of His.
