REPEATED BIBLICAL WARNINGS

sermonindex May 16, 2008

We all know there is much deception in our world today. How is that, that deception is running so rampant, when there is more Bibles in print and more different languages than ever before in the history of the world? In the churches, always notice are the Pastors, Elders, and Deacons, encouraging Christians, especially new Christians to study their Bible, the written Word. If anyone brings to you and provided various types of religious material, books, audio, videos or other wise and does not encourage Bible study, a red flag should go up to every Christian, especially in view of them doing the selecting the sources.

God calls preachers and teachers and uses them to give His Word to further their knowledge and His Kingdom, but the devil also uses his preachers and teachers to further the his lies and half truths to further his Kingdom.

As Christians, especially new Christians has need to study their Bible and learn the basic principles before listening to a great deal of sermons that are given by mere men. If the preacher is of God, one is safe, if not he is deceived, but if he is not a called preacher, h will be very smooth and deceiving for those who are weak in the Word.

The only safe way to know we are not being deceived is to know the Word of God well enough to discern the truth and detect a lie. Jesus and the Apostle Paul, Peter and all the rest of the Holy Spirit writers encouraged this reading and studying of the scriptures. I don’t remember anywhere in scripture reading, go find you a sermon to listen to or that someone has picked out for you to listen to. I don’t remember anywhere in scripture reading, go find you a book that’s is about this book. When we do read a book and listen to a sermon, we have great need to follow along with our Bibles and make sure nothing is getting added or taken away from the true source, THE BIBLE. One other thing to the remember when anyone working for the devil and is trying to deceive people, they won’t encourage anyone to read their Bible but the deceiver will point to and provide every other source other than the Bible in an attempt to deceive many.

I'm sure each one of you, as you search your Bibles on this subject, you can post many passages that deal with this subject of deception about God's Word. I would ask that you do that and post them here on the thread. If you have any passages that are negative to the post and you think this is bologna, please post those as well.

Mar 7:10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
Mar 7:11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
Mar 7:12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

2Co 2:12 Well, when I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord gave me tremendous opportunities.
2Co 2:13 But I couldn't rest because my dear brother Titus hadn't yet arrived with a report from you. So I said good-bye and went on to Macedonia to find him.
2Co 2:14 But thanks be to God, who made us his captives and leads us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume.
2Co 2:15 Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those being saved and by those perishing.
2Co 2:16 To those who are perishing we are a fearful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?
2Co 2:17 You see, we are not like those hucksters--and there are many of them--who preach just to make money. We preach God's message with sincerity and with Christ's authority. And we know that the God who sent us is watching us.

2 like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, so that you may grow in respect to salvation.

Definitely a thread that is worth continuing in...recently "Americas pastor" announced in an interview that sermons don't produce spirituality and prayer and fasting is not how you grow a church. He was taking scripture out of context and making it say what he wants to say. Many Christians will be deceived because they don't study the word for themselves.

Amen reformer:
Thanks

Acts 17:11-12
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily whether those things were so.12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
KJV

Note: they didn't post a sermon title and expect someone else explain their argument about something they disagreed with and they couldn't back with scripture with their flawed theology.

2 Peter 3:16-17

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Everyone is well aware that I'm edit: NOT NOT telling you to support abortion, homosexuality or any other sin but rather flee from it and resist it. If I'm did tell you to support such I would be wicked. Then if I'm not telling anyone that and urging them to support Christian ways percepts and support those who support God things and exhorting everyone to read the scriptures and verify their theology? Having said that, if someone is disageement with me, then I ask where do they stand or better yet who do they stand with or what principle or they standing on? Are they deceived or what? What if I said forget your Bible just go listen ole so and so I approved his message. I very afraid my zeal for supporting godliness and godly leaders is being ignored. Why, because somebody gave you a scripture and twisted it to make you ineffective as salt and light in the world. Supporting godliness won't save us and anyone, but it is evidence we have been born again contrary to what some think evidence is.

One scripture in particular comes to mind;
"Do your best to present yourself to God as
one approved by Him; a worker who has no
need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the
word of truth." {II Timothy 2 vs 15 RSV}

Amen
The best way to be approved is to give scripture with your thoughts and not refer someone to a sermon and expect the sermon to do it for you. I also think we need to pay close attention to the word "workman" . That does not mean to be silent and not work toward, "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" and have the attitude that we are not of this world and not do nothing anything to be involved as salt and light in a wicked and perverse generation.

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

1 Cor. 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Let me try this again. What I so humble ask was, search the scriptures that refer us souly to the scriptures about instructing Christians to refer only directly to the Word of God rather than word of mouth, because word of mouth is subject to error. So far all I have gotten is scripture attacking me for what members think I am guilty of. AM I any clearer now. If you ignore this then you will never know what I am saying. If you want to ignore this I can't help it, I have did my all I can do in referring you to the most dependable source, THE WORD OF GOD.
