A godly man before a king

"...Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream [i]be[/i] to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies."

- Daniel 4:19(KJV)

Daniel was asked to interpret a dream for the king of Babylon. The dream was sorely against the king and I suppose if Daniel had wanted to, he may have had an occasion here to speak evil of the king.

Some things the scripture [b]does not say[/b] Daniel did:

It [b]does not say[/b] that he,

railed against the king or called him wicked

rejoiced that the king was to fall

brought many charges and accusations against him

told him how deserving he was of the judgment

Instead, he says

"My lord, the dream [i]be[/i] to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies"

"This matter [i]is[/i] by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men."
