Please pray for my father. (Surgery today)

My father has been diagnosed with diverticulitis and is going to have a portion of his colon removed today. He has been in the hospital for five days now. They have been hoping it would improve with antibiotic treatment but the pain has gotten much worse and they feel they must remove the damaged portion now and explore to see what else might be wrong.

He was very hurt by “church people” (his terms) when he was young and has not attended in years (30+). He says he believes in God…but…

I ask for your prayers.

Surgery has been postponed!

The doctor that was going to perform the surgery was detained most of the day. When he arrived at the hospital at 10:30 PM he said he would like to wait another day. Dad is in a great deal of pain but we definitely want surgery to be the last option.

We are patiently waiting on the Lord…trusting in Him.

They are going to run one last test in the morning (Friday 23rd) and then make a decision about exploratory surgery if it comes back negative. Jell-O and broth make him sick. He has not eaten any solid food for over seven days.

He says he believes in God...it does not show in his life.

He has never professed Christ as his savior…

No surgery and dad has been released from the hospital. He has more tests yet to complete but for now things are looking better.

this surgery, can cause hurtful things in the future hard call. But God gives wisdom to those who ask.
