Difference between a Theological viewpoint and a Heresy
Heresy is: Denying the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)
Heresy is: Denying Jesus and His Word is truth.
Heresy is:Denying God’s power. (Sovereignty and ability as supreme)
2 Tim 3:5
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Heresy is:Denying His grace. (Unmerited favor)
Titus 2:11-13
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Jude 4
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heresy is:Teaching pernicious ways
1.\tcausing insidious harm or ruin; ruinous; injurious; hurtful: pernicious teachings; a pernicious lie.
2.\tdeadly; fatal: a pernicious disease.
3.\tObsolete. evil; wicked
2 Peter 2:1-2
2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Heresy is: Denying the resurrection.
Acts 24:21
21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
KJV
These are some heresies, but may not be all of them. Be sure you look to the Word in distinguishing the difference between a theological viewpoint and a heresy.
